  1. +1 for Acme in Wisconsin!
  2. DefiantMenace...Looks like I'm a little late to the party but here's my TG recipe using 115 grns Berry's RN plated: 4.2 grns Titegroup with a COL @ 1.135. Shot out of my S&W SD9VE it averages 1078 fps.
  3. I have a spare disk set for the Lee Pro Auto Disk setup. #57 was giving me 3.5 grns per throw. I took a drill bit and "lightly hogged out" the #57 cavity. Now I'm getting 3.7 grns using the modified #57. I also attached a Wal-Mart $7 aquarium pump to the powder reservoir to keep the e3 flakes dropping consistently. Chrono results reveal 1060 fps shooting 124/5 lead via M&P and SD9VE.
  4. Update to post # 86...didn't see an "edit" tab...Back out to the range yesterday shooting the e3 loads. I found the 3.3 grains loads a pinch too soft whereas the 3.5's were adequate. Looks like the 3.5's will be the keeper loads. I can't imagine going any higher without running into case fill issues.
  5. Went out to the range this morning, here are my e3 results for 9mm loaded with the Lee Pro Auto Disk: Auto Disk #53, 3.3 grns, 0.357 124 lrn Darda's (non-shouldered) @ 1.105 COL via S&W M&P full size = 984 fps. Auto Disk #57, 3.5 grns, 0.357 124 lrn Darda's (non-shouldered) @ 1.105 COL via S&W M&P full size = 1038 fps. Auto Disk #53, 3.3 grns, 0.356 125 lrn SNS (shouldered) @ 1.125 COL via S&W SD9VE = 987 fps. Auto Disk #57, 3.5 grns, 0.356 125 lrn SNS (shouldered) @ 1.125 COL via S&W SD9VE = 1043 fps. In each category, the spent brass ejected well, landing around 3-4' from me. Slide action was great, no stovepipes or FTE's. Recoil was very manageable with each load. Next I'll be looking for any signs of leading as I shoot more rounds. So far, e3 is a great 9mm powder.
  6. Went back out to the range this morning & chrono'd my 2 loads. I have posted my results in the thread "Alliant E3 for Newbies".
  7. That's a pretty good price break on the 3k. Does he take PP or CC?
  8. Loaded a small amount of #53 @ 3.3 gr & #57 @ 3.5 gr with 124/5 lrn. We had a lot of wind last night and it was blowing this morning so I left the chrono at home. Drove 12 miles out into the desert to the range and the wind had stopped. Took my four 9's with me: M&P, SD9VE, 669, & a Bersa BP9CC. At this point I was just interested in recoil, slide action, & brass ejection. With the 2 loads, the accuracy was standard for me @ 14 yards, and the 3 factors did well. I liked the recoil, not harsh or surprising, but very manageable. No slide hiccups or FTE's/stovepipes, and the brass landed 3-4' away in close proximity. My M&P load was with Darda's 0.357 124 lrn non-shouldered @ approx. 1.100 COL. The others used SNS 0.356 125 shouldered 125 lrn @ approx. 1.125 COL. I determine the COL based upon the plunk test. Hopefully on Monday I'll get back out there to chrono these loads. So far, e3 is good stuff. In these times of powder shortages, I have been looking for an addition to my Big 3 Trio: Win 231, A#5, & Titegroup. I recently came across IMR SR 7625 and have that dialed in for my 9's. I know that it will be discontinued at the end of 2014 so I was able to "buy ahead". With my Big 3 Trio on limited/nonexistent availability, It's good to have more choices.
  9. Thank you very much! I'll get some loaded up tonite. Hopefully I can chrono my loads tomorrow at the range. I'll post back with my findings.
  10. I've been following the e3 posts with interest. I picked up some yesterday and will load my 9mm casings tonite after work. I plan to start around 3.5 grains and will be shooting 124/5 LRN. What hole # for the LPAD gets me near this? Thanks for any help.
