  1. I used small hand files, an then 800 sandpaper to smooth finish it.
  2. I've actually wondered about the Rios. Haven't heard of any feedback from them yet though. I may just give them a try.
  3. Thanks, Jesse. I'll give it a try.Oh now that I can post pictures... Here's the light port opening I did too it. I didn't get too aggressive with it.
  4. I've always just shot whatever I come across when it comes to 12 gauge, but it's never been for anything competetive. So I'm ready to buy some more bulk 12 gauge, but this time around I want what will be most reliable or effective. I've found Walmart Winchester and federal 100rd packs for $27 for Win and $29 for Fed. I also found a Gunshop that has Estate 250rd cases for $67. So basically I have 3 options that are pretty much all the same price. They're all 7 1/2 shot, 2 3/4". I've shot all them through my Stoeger 3000 in the past, and never had problems with any, but I haven't shot it "that" much. Just wondering if you all have a recommendation on which brand I should go with.
  5. Oh ya, and I've got about $15 invested in all of it!! Not gonna lie, I'm pretty impressed with myself.
  6. I'm about to attend my first real 3 gun shoot next month at rockcastle. I don't really have the spare coin (or permission haha) to buy shell caddys. After looking at some of the options online, I decided to make my own. I bought some of those broom clippy things you put in your closet and riveted them to a plate with some leather straps to attach to the MOLLE on an old leg rig I had. I added gorilla glue between the clips to help the sturdiness of them. Right now the leg rig holds 10 and I had 2 left over to make a belt mounted +2 which is mounted to an sturdy aluminum strip. I put it on and made a fast lap around the house. They all stayed in and I didn't notice any shifting in the shells. Got back in the house and loaded 11 shells in my stoeger in no time at all. I can't wait to try this thing out for real.
  7. Just got a chance to try it out. The 12th shell fits halfway into the tube before bottoming out.
  8. We'll I just measured and I have about 20" of extra spring out the front with the end cap removed. Like I said, it fits 11, which is what I thought it was supposed to hold. 20" seems like a lot though, but I don't want to take a bunch off only to find out I can't fit a 12th round anyways. Thoughts?
  9. So you're saying if I clip the spring some it should hold 12?
  10. Mine only holds 4 in the factory tube. 4+7=11, so I'm assuming I'm at max capacity.
  11. I just put a Nordic +7 on my 3000. The nut went right on. No fitting required. I did have to smooth out the front end of the factory tube though to help out with the follower from getting snagged on it. I also chamfered the front corner of the follower. As for spring length, I shoved the whole thing in there and it took 11 shells in it with no problem. I can "load 2" easily with it. Sorry I can't post pics yet
