Moving to Idaho in the USA in mid-August, so I sold my last gun today.
Feeling a bit lonely without anything to shoot, and obviously stressed with the move to another continent

For interest. ...
In IPSC there is a specific provision that mags can be stored anywhere at all (regardless of division requirements) after a table start

No
Untimbled hulls are an abomination and i certainly won't allow them in my house. All hulls should be timbled until the nifflets go plink. Then they're ready for ploofting

Recoil spring once a year
Buffers last almost forever at 167 power factor (practice ammo for IPSC). But 178 power factor (match ammo) destroys them in about 1000 rounds

Quick question

It's a good thing, surely...

If it gets to the 50s, we emigrate !!!
In Iowa we wear shorts in the 50's.Here in Durban, South Africa it's been getting down to 63 Fahrenheit at night. So everyone is complaining about how miserably cold it is
If we can't wear shorts then it's clearly unreasonable to go outdoors

I base my count on bullet purchases for my reloading, minus current stock - if they're gone then i shot them.
Since each of my guns is a different calibre, this system works for me

I guess a dryer climate gives a higher risk of sparks from static electricity - but I've not heard of anyone igniting their powder in that way

If it went down and the prop didn't activate, then that would be REF.
If it didn't fall, then I think calibration is the right call

I don't like getting my clothes dirty.
shoot naked?
In IPSC you would get bumped to open for not having all your equipment behind the hip bone

In South Africa (and many other non-US places) decimals after the number are separated by a comma. Thousands are separated by spaces (not commas). We also don't believe in feet and inches - but there you go.
I'd pay good money to see someone run more than 40 000 fps.....

The rock idea got me thinking....
Usain Bolt weighs 1 450 642 grains and travels at 40,245 feet per second, giving him a power factor of 58 642. I guess he makes major with a bit of a margin for chrono variations
In fact, i bet my 87 year old grandmother can make major. Doesn't seem so impressive now

Steel reasonably flat (pistols only at our range). Coated / plated RNFP

Minor factor 9mm round that my wife shot out of her CZ 75 SP01 shadow. It hit one of the other club members. The photo shows the bruise that evening. Considering she doesn't shoot much, she was quite embarrassedCZ was that a rifle or pistol round. That had to smart!!

Painful
But certainly not life-threatening
(Popper ricochet at about 20 yards)

I also glue Velcro to the back of the magazine holders. It makes a big difference and the belt stays stuck all the way around - even with five holders in a row

Things to focus on today:
Grip the gun
Visual patience
Move like a scalded cat

The best way to get a lot of shooters to go prone is to do a full 360 with a loaded gun when you're on the line

New TS owner
in CZ
With care, you can buy a full size grip set in the colour of your choice and cut / sand / grind them shorter to fit with the magwell.
Personally, I used a disc sander

I'm just going to put this half empty mag in my pouch for a second

Magnets are great for holding used mags after a course of fire. That way there's no chance of confusion - anything on my magnet gets reloaded
