  1. Yeah the theory is, you just slap the magazine on it from a table, rather than trying to stuff it in a pouch. I Have never used the magnet during a COF. At this point, all I use it for is to slap my used mag on it, at unload and show clear, and of course inadvertently sticking to the side of my truck and scratching the F$@& out of it.

Im having the same issue with brass being pulled up into the router (Currently using a carbide cutter bit, have a boring bar on order) and causing excessive heat quickly. Tot he point ive had to take the unit apart and clean it out after only 100 cases. I know the carbide bit isnt helping as it kinda pulls the swarf up and away VS out and away like a boring bar might.

You mention a shield you have built. What does this look like?

I used a piece of Kydex, slip it on the router shaft and the OD should fit snuggly but not too snuggly in the ID of the router adapter.

  3. There is this one dude who has videos on Facebook absolutely drenching a primer with penetrating oil, it still works. It was not soaked in oil for days however. He also has a video of depriming a live backwards primer like 12 times, absolutely banging the hell out of a lee single stage. Never goes off. Till it’s in a gun.

  4. We already have a $370 primer filler that may or may not work. Now we get a plastic $200 filler that needs post it notes to maybe work sometimes. What We need a $500 unit that works 100%. I’m willing to pay if it works 100%. As most high volume and/or automated reloaders will as well.

  5. Thanks and one more follow up question if you don’t mind. Crimp or no crimp? If crimp how much?

I use a Lee FCD to just remove the flare the the M die produces to seat the bullet. The actual crimping part of the die is just a touch in from doing nothing. So really, no crimp. I haven’t measured it.

  6. While I can’t speak for what you’re requesting. I did have problems with 140gr .40 cal bullets. I can assume you would see similar issues with small 9mm bullets. First, I found that instead of the ramp flipping them, it wanted to just lift the bullet out and jam up or fall out of the collator all together. Trial and error with nose guide shims made out of card stock and/or paper seems to have cleared that up, for the most part. But it’s not as easy as setting up a normal weight bullet. 2nd issue which I don’t have a solution for yet, is the bullets are not dropping straight down the output tube, they attempt to go in sideways as soon as they exit the collator and jam everything up. This is a random problem, slower collator speed helps negate it.

  7. There has to be a way to adapt this to fit on the press. A longer magazine tube and a modified nut to hold it in place

I was thinking the exact same thing, I can come up with something easily I think. The Dillon primer tubes are held to the collator by a magnet, could probably just cut one down and locate it to the primer magazine on the press, if nothing else. Once we have them, I figure it would be pretty easy to adapt.
