  1. Yup, loading a shotgun is a critical part of real 3 gun. I hate that 3GN has driven people away from stages where you have to reload..... Reloading the shotgun is as important a part of multigun as shooting it is. That said, sounds like the big shotgun course might not have made it in the match after all....... Oh damn! I was just working on figuring out how to carry more shells specifically for your shotgun stage....bummer
  2. 30+ rnds?Anyone know of a Carbon Arms or Taccom dealer in Austin, Tx? We'll be there on Thursday with our vendor booth set up. We'll have every option that Carbon Arms and TACCOM offers there. I'm about 20 minutes from the range, so I'll run up there and see what else I can add to the mix
  3. Thanks! I'll have 20 on my belt, with 10 in the gun at the start. Maybe I can just duct tape a box to my chest....
  4. 30+ rnds? Anyone know of a Carbon Arms or Taccom dealer in Austin, Tx? You can try these guys who have been showing up to the monthly TXMG matches if I'm not mistaken. Not sure what they have, but worth a shot: http://skulltactical.com/product-category/shogun-accessories/ Thanks, I'll see what they have
  5. Perfect thread!I just logged in to ask the same question. I haven't had a chance to do any testing, so this gives me a good reference point. I've been under the impression over the years, that full or MC choke was too tight for slugs. I've been running IC in my JM Pro 22" and have always felt it ran a little tighter in pattern that I would have expected. Along the same lines, and not trying to hijack, but also curious on slug weight? 1oz the most common? TIA, Yo
  6. You just mount it close to the end of the forearm and hit it as you pull the gun out of the staging area. Exactly, Jesse. I mounted it right in front of the forearm, which also gives you a good point of reference whenever you take the mag tube extension off.
  7. I'm mounting the C5L on my Mossberg 930 JM with one of these " Streamlight 69903 TL Tactical Flashlight Mag Tube Rail Note: I tried ordering from Planet Optics, but they are having some weird shipping issues and couldn't get the product out of the warehouse in 10 days. Cya'll at Zombie time!
  8. Yet another great example of why my move from WA to TX was such a good idea!!
  9. Honestly, out of everything for shooting 3-gun, the freakin belt has been, by far my most frustrating project. In a very short time, I have large container filled with "Belt Parts". I'm still not happy with it!! Sheesh
  10. Lasers are better than anything for up close point shooting, awkward positions and shooting on the move. They start to suffer when you need accuracy not because of the laser but simply because you can't hold them perfectly still like we like our sights to be. It's like the wobble you see in your scope when the magnification is up on the high end. Only lasers accentuate the wobble even more. So my point is the accuracy requires of the head shots only coupled with the odd zombie targets that don't have a distinct scoring area require accuracy. I am assuming I'll be using my scope more than my laser on my rifle as a result. That makes sense. I'll keep the scope mounted then. I just need to figure out where to mount the laser/light now on my JP. Thanks, Jesse!
  11. Hi All, I am registered for this match. This is my first night match and so I'm trying to get a decent setup. I bought a couple of the Veridian CL5's, one for the rifle and one for my shotgun. question- if I'm running a laser/light setup on my rifle, should I just run it without the scope? TIA, I'm really looking forward to the crazy event! Neil
