They are having a great match there later this month -- the Red Rock Rumble.

Most rational parties would rather settle than have a third party decide an outcome for them. Filing a lawsuit is often just another tool in getting settlement leverage.
You would expect USPSA to want to settle to avoid legal costs and distraction for the organization. The plaintiff will have to decide what they need to settle.
however, if I was a board member, on a personal level, I would be very concerned about the allegation that I was trying to skirt a state firearm law.

This is wild. Is there a court date set? If these allegations are true I don't see how USPSA in its current form survives this? Glad I just bought a five year...
Most cases settle, and only a small percentage go to trial. Not sure about in Ohio, but it is a two to three year process to get to trial in many state courts. This isn't good, but seems highly unlikely to tank the organization. -
Link to the lawsuit from another forum. The complaint is only 20 something pages, where with exhibits it is 268 pages. While a complaint is only one side's version it doesn't appear frivolous and almost certainly cost five figures to put it together. Likely filed on day one of Nationals for maximum impact.

I thought only 45 slots were going to be allocated
Does that mean shooters in other divisions switched to LO?

If you start prematurely it's a stop and reset you situation but if you are moving AT the start signal it's a creeping penalty. RO has a lot of discretion in this case but if you're the shooter and just stop in this situation, it's going to be a reshoot.
Do you wear electronic muffs while you are the shooter? If so turn them off.I had it in my head to never stop myself, but in retrospect, I guess I should have stopped myself and forced a restart?
Shooting open, I wear amplified ear plus with a MSA Sordin over the plugs, and leave that turned off.

It usually will work itself out with a polite comment or just standing there as the RO and giving a stare.
As the shooter, you don't have to react to the timer if something disturbs you right before your run.
A month or so ago, I was beginning a classifier stage from a seated position. I reacted to a noise from the next bay, thinking it was my beep, by lifting my fingers from my knees, and then the RO hit the button. I semi froze and then not hearing anything continued. Lots of discussion ensued, and I was given a procedural for "creeping." A first for me and frankly everyone I know. My belief was that the RO should have stopped me and restarted me.
Thoughts?

It is hard to discuss pistols and not magazines. MecGar CZ, MecGar 320 and Glock magazines strike me as more reliable than 2011 mags with 9mm ammo.
-
So far, there seems to be a lot of limited optics activity, and enthusiasm. That said, based on reliability issues, I have been observing, the killer LO gun may be a well vetted CO pistol. Also, in pure performance, while the LO pistols split well, my friends, who are good shooters, are shooting their LO guns worse than the CO pistols they were shooting. And they are good shooters.
-
Anyone with insight why he switched from the 17 to the 47 this year? The 47 started as a CBP pistol, but I would imagine a world champion picks his gear based on performance.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if there is enough interest in shooting dot pistols, over time, that we end up with production optics with lighter weight carry oriented pistols, CO as we know it now, and Limited Optics.
-
I experienced a similar problem with a few polymer Rivals. Not something you notice with 140 mags that don't lock back.

At this point, if I had to choose between a USPSA President that is a:
RO in good standing
very knowledgeable about the details of LO, flashlights and dremel tools
liked by everyone
OR has the ability to quiet the drama, mend fences with the members at large, and shine a light on any special arrangements or deals, I will take this person all day long. USPSA is a great sport with an organization that seems to have gotten out of sync with the members at large!
-
I think we can all agree that removing the President is significant. What I would like to know is the following:
What was the complaint.
Who made the complaint. Did they have any communication with Troy or Board Members prior to making the complaint.
Who made the decision to pull the President's RO credentials. Was that done solely by Troy or in consultation with some or all of the Board. Was remedial action short of pulling the RO credential considered.
What were the deliberations of the Board concerning this termination.
How was the time period for nominating new candidates decided.

They replace defective units -- I consider their support of the R3 Max/XL to be excellent.

No, that’s standard on the 507c.
Believe it is 2 moa dot and 32 moa circle on the 507C.

The draw is good -- it was sticky with the Rival polymer SM holster.

My Smoky Mountain for the polymer Rival seemed OK without modification but them was sticky at the range. I was looking at the Canik thinking of its Walther heritage, and tried a Comp Tac International PDP 4.5 holster I had, and the Rival steel fits great.

The trigger in the Pro is the Walther Dynamic trigger. It can also be used in the PPQ and steel frame models. It is flat faced and breaks further forward than the stock trigger. I like it.
While that trigger comes in the Pro, you can buy it for $179 on the Walther website, but it is usually on back order.

So I get for a seated start there's no getting around muzzling your leg without shifting the whole belt, but I'm muzzling my leg from a normal standing start. Would that potentially be DQ territory as there would be that split second when the gun leaves the holster, but it's still muzzling my leg?
I would be more worried about the ER than the DQ.

There are over 37000 USPSA members in the US with Russia being second. From USPSA site.
There are about 27000 - 28000 IDPA members world wide.
With about 30,000 of those USPSA members all trying to register for CO Nats!
Kidding aside, can you provide links to both USPSA and IDPA membership numbers, as I searched and couldn't find that info. IDPA is surprisingly large to me.
Lawsuit against USPSA
in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
Posted
I think it is important to remember that a lawsuit is one side's version of events. Once USPSA lawyers up, they will surely have defenses, including that despite some initial confusion, and correspondence with the local sheriff, out of an abundance of caution and at great expense, they moved the event across the country to Alabama.
If I were in charge, I would be unbanning a number of people, in exchange for an agreement to work in the best interest of USPSA.
By now, USPSA's counsel will have advised all directors and employees to not destroy and maintain all email, text messages, other documents or social media posts relevant to Cameo and the terminations. This is going to be expensive and uncomfortable, and all should consider settling this.
