Lol there were a handful yesterday the way Linda is doing it is if someone bails u write a check out for the match fee leaving the pay to name blank.when someone bails the check on top of the list goes to the bailing shooter. And the the person that wrote the check gets the slot. Nice way of doing it.No wait list at ProAm GTFO!!!
Oh and I want to thank blue cross bs of tn for screwing me out of knee surgery that I needed to get to happily shoot this match.
Anyhow I was there and met w Linda hence the scoop. Whoever got my slot good luck !!!

Forgot about that one mainly cause it's smaller than mt j .Mt Juliet store is fng huge..... Biggest I've ever seen.thanks

If you leave the airport at nashville and go east on I 40, get off at the 1st Mt Juliet exit, there is a new Gander Mountain superstore thats only been open for a month or so. This store is loaded beyond belief.
If you order online ahead of time, they will pull it and hold it for you at the store. The place is friggin huge, and is loaded w inventory. There is a bass pro on briley parkway but its a PITA to deal with and get in and out of. Wally world, we all know the drill.FYI Gander has Winchester AA for 70 bucks a case after 20 dollar rebate, and 1K of 223 55 gr for 399 a case ( new brass ammo) There is a wally world across the highway from ganer mtn in mt juliet. Hope this helps. oh btw, the cops in TN know about Jesse as well....

Miculek comp works well. Spend time with it dialing it in and you won't be disappointed.

The part that stumps me is the gun runs fine with the JP, which is heavier. But doesn't run with the Taccom? As I said before and Tim did as well something isn't right somewhere. You are at full gas and shouldn't be.
Am running a bte gas block on this. As I mentioned, ill work with the spring portion of it which may be the culprit. I've changed ammo, mags, gas rings are lined up fine, even tested same ammo and mags w another rifle next to this one. Back on the spring. Weirdest part was it ran fine initially then got worse running 55 grain 223.
I'll do a spring rodeo and report back but I'm stumped on the fine w JP not fine w 2 piece as well.

Not physics. It simply wasn't cycling properly.that's why I suspect a spring change is in order. Opening the gas almost 4 turns didn't help. BTE gas block. Not saying its bad or doesn't work, it's just not running well in this rifle right now. It's just weird that it wont work.what setup are u running that allows it to work as it should?!

My gut tells me work w springs when using this buffer, adjust gas accordingly, or stick w JP low mass buffer

If you look at JP's captured buffer system you will also see that you can get a set of springs. By swapping out the springs you can find your sweet spot.

Is the cost worth it?

Removed it today. W the gas cranked up was getting FTE's and jams. Put the JP back in retuned the gas problem solved. I guess I could work w buffer springs but all in all I sacrificed reliability and it cost me this past weekend... I'm going back to keeping shit simple..

I have one ill break out once in a while. Its not dependable, better off w a 40 rnd pmag w taccom or taran extension. wanna have fun, pull that surefire apart, that's what i did w mine after running 2 loads of 855 through it. There was something loose inside, was a small piece of plastic from the follower. I wouldn't risk it in a competition....anything with a choke point meant to change direction is a recipe for failure, or stoppage.

Awesome build !

Both are used, really needed to crank the gas up but it didn't affect muzzle rise. There's one w a small thin round pad that goes in first, and one that goes in last, they both face each other resembling Chinese finger cuffs using the spring. It's pretty quiet, I polished up the spring before I assembled it. I'm happy w it so far but will keep the JP closeby as a backup. When I first saw the setup I thought it was one piece or it came 2 in a pack till I read the directions.

Ran the ulw setup today it's a tad heavier than a carbine buffer w no weights in it. Needs more gas than the JP buffer to cycle. Will run it again on more steel and brass ammo and make a decision. It's also tossing brass and steel at 2 o'clock. Will report more later.

whats the difference between a rifled slug and aero rifling on a slug? and does it matter in 3 gun use?
thanks

I took mine apart and removed the weights and replaced it with a piece of a aluminum tube. Got it down to the same weight as a factory LM buffer. I also polished the spring and buffer tube.
when you used an aluminum tube, was it the same length of the weights stacked up? or did it go from the bottom of the inside of the buffer to the where the plastic insert seats?? i pulled a carbine buffer apart last night and started working with it, trying to get some ideas, thanks ( like i dont have enough to do)

Set screws rule for sure the wedge gets tight but I wouldn't trust it. Slid it in once and left it out in case anyone needs to see it!
Also, I used some 3m trim adhesive to make a shim for my sig mags using the beretta jig. Worked out good giving me nice tension without having to play w the thumb knob adjustment too much.
So far I like this setup!
