  1. Figured I'd post this. 6 oz rubber pad keeps it in your shoulder. The true weight really is 6 oz. takes carbine buffer. I whipped one up and made it the same weight as my JP low mass. I don't know what the ace Arfx weighed off hand but this is def lighter.

  2. The only load my 1301 wouldnt run was a light 7/8. It would fire but wouldn't cycle the gun. That really sucked. Back to Winchester Wally loads.no worries. Someone had given me the box of light loads where I didn't read the fine print. My fault.

  3. Just built a new 3Gun upper and took it out yesterday. It is a 16" mid-length Nordic barrel with a standard non-adjustable YHM low profile gas block; Voodoo Innovations lower mass BCG and standard carbine buffer/spring; AP Customs carbon fiber hand guard; and Seekins ATC brake. Great accuracy (.60" group at 100) and it ran 100%, but failed to lock back on an empty mag most of the time (shot most with only one round in various mags to test function); and it ejected all cases forward of the firing line at 1 o'clock. Recoil seemed to be a bit more than I was expecting with the mid-length, low mass carrier and muzzle brake.

Sounds like its over-gassed, right? Adjustable gas block needed? Thanks for any feedback.

It should toss brass at 4 o clock,1 o clock is undergassed,u cant have that shooting competitively, going w an adjustable block will allow u to tune the gun so youll have lower recoil, less muzzle rise, and the ability to stay on target easier.I like the BTE blocks, theyre cost effective and work well in addition to being small and light. JP and a few others make good blocks but theyre pricey and do the same as the little guy., Once I found the BTE stuff its all Ive used.. hope this helps

PS BTE is battle tested equipment, owned by vets

  4. Just built a pistol w a royal arms lower, awesome price lightweight billet lower for under 120 bucks via aim surplus dot com:

Had to lightly file out the round hole for the mag release bar to get rid of some powder coat but other than that it's good to go!

  5. teased my wife w milk duds. She sat on the couch one day and was complaining about the dogs in and out all day and she was tired of em getting up and whining to go out. She said one of em peed on the kitchen floor where she just cleaned it up before i got home. I said well one of em pooped on the couch, she freaks and says u gotta be kidding me, i had a milk dud in my hand and waved it in front of her face, she screamed and ran into the kitchen thinking i was gonna paint her with it,instead i looked at her and popped it into my mouth. she ran outside and hurled all over the deck...........

  6. For you guys who run a Nordic tube, do you find the barrel clamp to be a necessary evil? I know this shotgun is my 3-gun shotgun and will get bumped around, but the Nordic barrel clamp has marred the heck out of my barrel and tube. I plan on sending the gun off to C-Rums to get some work done, but when it comes back I plan on cerakoting the receiver, barrel, and tube. If the barrel clamp isn't necessary, then I'm going to scrap it so it doesn't mess up the new cerakote when it's done.

I run a clamp to keep things tight w the long tube.Ive seen pros run it and not run it.I don't worry about cosmetics on my 1301,am busy trying to keep it loaded while focusing on the stages. Once you get it back from c rums and see all that metal gone, u may not wanna do anything to it except using it and cleaning it..just sayin

  7. How come JP and other big dog vendors didn't have anything at this??

Was it cause of regionals the previous week??

Don't get me wrong pro am had kick ass vendors and sponsors but it seemed like something was missing....

On another note, some matches are really smooth, some are just well,Not smooth. The amount of time folks have to wait is unbelievable. With some matches getting really big, it might not be a bad idea to have a professional team come in. organize and run the event, deal with sponsors and vendors just to eliminate a lot of things that put the F U in fun events. Rockcastle could be run like a rock show that's on tour where it's produced to run efficient and smooth from providing maintained targets to organizing the prize table and sign ups... I know the folks work hard to put on an awesome match just sayin..,.
