In 2012 I shot it and hadnt ever shot in a competition before so I think you'll be fine.

I dont have any mags cerakoted but I have an AR upper/lower cerakoted and I dont think you'd notice a difference. They were coated while completely disassembled and I didnt have any problems putting them back together (trigger pins and detents all went back in fine)
