  1. My thought is it was good as shot. If it had fallen I don't see it would have given you a competitive advantage. If it fell into the shooting box/area and you or the RO thought it interfered too much you could have suggested this rule:

8.6.4 In the event that inadvertent contact from the Range Officer or another external influence has interfered with the competitor during a course of fire, the Range Officer may offer the competitor a reshoot of the course of fire. The competitor must accept or decline the offer prior to seeing either the time or the score from the initial attempt.

  2. Wow, just wow.  I can't imagine any mechanical stress on that part of the barrel would cause it to separate like that at under 40K rounds.  Glad the slide appears intact.  It's an easy fix to fit a new barrel!

  3. Never seen that done.  Different sight cut, the TS uses a LPA cut and I'm guessing that'd be too deep for the 75 firing pin channel.

If you find a pic of what you saw, post the link.

Yea, it's seriously inspiring to see how rapidly you're progressing in a short time. I imagine not long until we see you competing against Max Michel and the like :D

Post Optics Nats this is an amazing post...great match for the internet trolls to follow.  :D

You rock.  Now I'll start practicing so I can be like you!

  5. If you have a slide already fit, send that along with the frame.  Ideally you'd fit the slide after the frame chroming.  I think they bead blast the sharp edges so the chrome sticks better.

Plating is pretty thick so I'm assuming it'd cover minor tooling marks.  I've only had them hard chrome a cast steel CZ frame for me, matte finish, and it's holding up very well.

Vogel's final time at 204.84, next closest shooter is 264.58.  I don't think I counted more than 10 shooters under the 300 second mark.

+1 second penalty really spread out the scores...

From what I'm reading above, the late coordination to the match didn't bring all the top shooters either.

But the +1 second penalty totally changes the game dynamic.

    CZ 97B

You'll see that CZ seems to have a cycle for their steel framed guns arriving in the US.  This year has been less predictable than the last two with support for new product lines and one-off items (ie, steel frame short rail manual safety) in the mix.

  7. I had the same exact failure on my crank arm at around 12K rounds.  They sent new arms for both sides PLUS the brass sockets (upgrades from the delrin sockets).  I do notice the upper left socket is looser than the other 4, so I wonder if that had something to do with it.  That and I had a batch of tough primer pockets once...  Glad Dillon has their great warranty!

Blade tech makes a tac sport holster that's more traditional than the magnetic speed race holsters from DAA or ghost.

I have one of those as well as an Ernie hill speed holster

Unless blade tech has the TSO as an option now, their regular TS holster won't fit.  Been there, done that.  I think RHT is the only game in town for kydex TSO holster.

  9. If you use the Czechmate magwell, then you should look at the compact grips.

If you use the CZC magwell, then look for medium grips (o believe only CZC sells that size) or plan to sand down full size grips.  Any full size grips will work, some materials are easier to sand than others (G10 vs aluminum).
