Just finished this setup this weekend.

I relocated the shellplate camera after this picture was taken.  $160 now I just need an rca endoscope and it will work with this display

    Thanks,

are you using the 30 ft cables that came with the cameras or did you order shorter ones?

nice setup, really appreciate the links you provided.

  2. Have any of you guys replaced your case feed plunger?  Getting 9mm cases into the shell plate seems to be the source of most of my hangups lately when running manually. I’m not sure why it’s happening. I do have an FW Arms shell plate in the way, and expect to have my replacement drive motor from Mark7 arriving tomorrow, so I’d like to resolve this before converting the 1100 back to autodrive.

I would also get a set of FFB case feed plungers as the Dillon ones have more play and the FFB case feed plunger is the other half of the equation to get my CP2000 to 2800 a hour.

Even when I was a handle puller on my super 1050 I still had issues feeding into the shell plate. The FW arms shell plates have eliminated the problem

Hmm, it seems that most of my stoppages over the last few thousands of rounds loading has been at the case insertion into the shell plate. I never considered that it may be the plunger. I ordered an FW Arms shell plate hoping it helps resolve this issue. I will also have to research the plunger.

    who makes them?

The key to making a autodrive really run is preprocessed and pre primed brass. Clean it, prime everything you have, clean again and run ammo. Otherwise you will have issues. Also get a FW arms prime time.

Thanks, I have switched to 2 pass reloading on the 1100, but I’m only decapping, swaging, and sizing on the first pass.

I don’t have the Prime Time, but my PAL Filler does a very good job filling my primer tubes. Although I just ordered an FW Arms shell plate over the weekend. We’ll see how that affects the process.

The closed end goes towards the gun. It’s not the same as a 1911.

in reality though, it can go either way, however it can be harder to install if you have to open end towards the gun.

if the closed end goes towards gun, that would be like a 1911, wouldn’t it?

  6. Just wondering how many of you are running the Armory Craft trigger in your P320 Legion over the stock, or GreyGuns competition kit?

I'm trying to decide between them and was wondering about the pros and cons of them. If you have experience with both, I’d like to hear your thoughts. I’ve been a Glock guy forever, so the Sig P320 experiment is new to me. It seems like a nice gun, not even sure it needs any mods, but, I need to order something while waiting for my holster to arrive…

Here's a pic of the G19 I had milled and then had them refinish with Black Nitride.  Truely exceptional work and the optic fits perfect.... like it's made for it (cause it is).  They even install a channel liner at no charge on the two I've had done.

Nice. After shearing screws on my MOS slide, I picked up a regular gen5-17 and sent it to BattleWerx to mill it for my SRO. I went with their cut all the way back with no rear sight and they did a great job. They have since done 3 other Glocks for me and I am very happy with the results.

I've also used Maple Leaf Firearms in Texas for milling my Sig P365 slides and they also did a very god job.

I had two X5 Legions, started with Grey Guns Competition trigger systems in them. I tried the SA Competition trigger system in one and liked it much better and installed one in the other too. I liked the SA system much more. I did all of the installations myself.

What is it about the SA trigger that you like over the GrayGuns trigger?

I've always put the open end on the guide rod first. That way the closed end makes consistent flush contact with the slide when compressing.

I was thinking that, but then I remembered that on my 1911, the smaller closed end went on first and the open end went towards the muzzle.

yes i want over the ear i double up shooting open. and i had the same thing happen this weekend. my muffs fell off my belt between stages and never seen em again. lost and found included. so looking to get the best i can get within reason on muffs. i keep seeing the gel is highly favored, i also see an option for memory foam also.

wow, I don’t think I’ve ever shot a match where I felt a conserted effort wouldn’t have been made to return them to a shooter.

    That sucks.

This thread is funny. Everyone wants change so long as it doesn’t affect them personally.

Or, as long as it affects them in a way they want to be affected.

I've come to the conclusion that I don’t really care anymore because I’m in it for fun more than anything else. I run what I brung and choose the appropriate Division.  Back when I was shooting iron sights in Production it mattered to me. Now, with an optic, not so much.

HI i have been looking for a pair of very high quality muffs, i had a cheap pair of 3m non electronic muffs that i used for double protection with open. i wear custom ear plugs but want electronic muffs with gel pads. i have read a bunch on the peltor and sordin. what are the consensus on which brand is the best hands down cost irrelevant. buy for life is the goal here. Thanks for the opinions

There is no such thing as buy for life, I currently own 2 pairs of ProEars and 1 pair of Sordins. I’ve been very happy with both brands. Not sure which ones I’d consider “better” than the other. Sometimes I prefer having separate volume controls for each side.

they did,,, and no one shot CO because people didnt want to load 10 rounds in their guns that held 20..

Yup, and then they went an ruined Production by going to 15 rounds.  I bet at 15 rounds, Production Optics would be as popular as it is now.  But, I'm definitely biased towards my own desires.

  14. Hey should do what should have been done at the start. There never should have been a carry optics division. It should have been Production Optics with the only difference being the slide mounted optic.

Same with Limited Optics. It should be exactly the same as Limited, but with a slide mounted optic. Heck, might as well even have a Limited-10 Optic Division.

Easy peasy, simple as pie. I don’t understand why this wasn’t the clear choice from the beginning.

  15. Bumping this since it’s been a few years, and a few folks are now making extended slide releases.

I’m wondering whose slide catch has floated to the top of the heap with the competition crowd on the X5 Legion?

  16. Hmmm.  Are you talking about if they were both locked in a ransom rest?

If so, then I would think the question would be if the 2.5 inches of barrel length were enough to stabilize the particular bullet you were firing.

If the gun were being shot by a person, and assuming that 2.5" was enough to stabilize the bullet, then I think the shorter barrel might be more accurate as it will clear the gun and afford less time for the shooter to influence the shot off the target.

But, then again, what do I know???
