  1. Got anymore Stock II's Gump? lol

Not right now but if I keep enjoying open like I have then I may have to part with another one to get a backup Gold Team, lol

PM me if you decide. These things are harder to find then a needle in a haystack. Haha

  2. I have plenty of stock for reloading rounds. It is a good idea to think about and I did which is why I stocked up on supplies in advance. I shoot steel as well with 1911's so I have a variety of bullets and powders.

  3. All good info, Thank you. GebeBray, That is a lot of work that is way above my ability. Looks like if I decide to go this route I will need to Dollar up and get it done right from the start,

  4. I placed an order with a well respected Gunsmith to build a 1911 framed open Steel Challenge pistol with an RTS2 optic. After searching, finding and reading this thread, and many others, I am concerned about the choice of the optic. I understand that steel shooting doesn't jostle or shock with the same force or power factor from ammunitions as USPSA open firearms, but I still don't want to be without a dot in the middle of an event. Does anyone have an opinion on a Deltapoint or a Trijicon RMR? I was considering changing before holes are drilled and it's to late to change things. The RMR Dual Illuminated seems very interesting to me.

  5. I have an open steel challenge full 1911 Caspian race gun being made right now by Akai Customs. Race ready frame and custom cut slide and all the tricks of the trade put in it. I really wanted to also do a limited full Caspian Hi-Cap but the magazine reliability issues just won't let me pull the trigger on it.

  6. The only one I could find find is the Canyon Creek and that would have to be welded on. I have read that some have epoxied this on but that doesn't seem like it would hold very well or for long to me. So my question is.... Is there any other magwells for the Elite Match and is having the magwell worth it when shooting USPSA?

    Thanks,

    John

  7. I have 3 of their 2211 conversions, and 8 magazines, mainly for Steel Challenge. I've never tried using a different mag with the conversion. The mags can hold up to 12 rounds, but it is advisiable not to cram that many rounds in, unless it's just plinking.

All I will be using this for is steel challenge. Just wanted something to shoot besides my limited STI/Caspian. Was hoping someone made an alternative mag but it appears, from your comment, I should stick with what they make.
