With Winchester SPP, it works like a charm.  Winchester LPP, not so much.  The last loading session I had, I really watched everything and I came to the conclusion that maybe it's my Large primer tubes that are causing my issue.  The primers seem to hang up and not go in the tube smoothly or don't want to drop down the tube as quickly as the small primers do.  May try to bevel the edges of the tubes a bit to see if that helps.  I'd love the have a PAL or RF100 though.....

Exactly the same situation here as well. Jams/issues are about 0-3 per 100 on SPP, enough for me to keep using the Vibraprime but LPP its a constant jam.

Is it true you can only load to 1.14 on CK arms gun. I was reading that there short chamber.

I bought a CK Arms Thunder about a year ago and load to 1.160 OAL with PD JHP no problems. When new, I could only plunk at 1.145. After a few thousand rounds, I tried 1.160 and it fits the barrel.

  3. I have a CK Arms 9mm Thunder straight from Shooters Connection. The only thing I changed is the red dot mount; I cannot get used to the off center mount.

My CK has been running very good. Yes, I've had a few jams, but I attribute those to weak mag springs. Slide to frame fit is tight but not as buttery smooth as other customs I've handled. I wish a tad little lighter trigger as mine breaks at around #2. I love the stippling on the plastic grip, my hands will absolutely not go anywhere. It shoots fairly flat and the balance is pretty good. I think CK Arms is one of the best bang for the buck in Open guns.

And since I'm from the Kommiefornia, I like the fact that I'm the only one shooting a CK Arms open at club (even state) matches. Limcat is absolutely a fine gun, but the shooter on deck, on the hole, and even on the deep hole has the same one too! I'm shooting my first area match soon and I can't wait to play with my CK Arms there.

If its not too late, I'd go right to 6.8 of WAC and see how that tests. On another note, I've been told by a very reliable source that HP will tumble past ~15 Yards and to not use them for major 9mm rounds. I quit using them, (given the source).. Just my 2 cents..

I used 6.6 of WAC on my first match last Sunday. It had the best combination of accuracy and recoil off my CK Arms Thunder. Unfortunately, I left my chrono at my gun club so I wasn't able to chrono. I have no problems with my PD JHP, I zeroed my dot at 25 yards and it shoots like a laser.

One thing that stuck me is that WAC is pretty clean. I cleaned up after the match and there was not much to be cleaned, both barrel and slide/frame.

  5. I did some load development for a 9 major on my CK Arms Thunder w/ 3 popple holes. I have PD 124gr JHP, Win SRP, sitting at roughly 1.148" COL, with the following loads of Win Autocomp (5 samples each):

    6.8 grains: mean-1413, std dev-16.7

    7.0 grains; mean-1452, std dev-10.9

    7.2 grains; mean-1449, std dev-10.3

I did not realize until later when I cleaned my gun that there was some unburnt powder accumalated inside. I did not notice unbrunt powder spewing out when I was shooting though. I did not observe my gun enough whether it is the lighter charge that caused the unburnt powder or the heavier one. What do you guys think?

Also what does it means the the 7.0 and 7.2 grains are virtually the same in velocity, granted 7.2 has a little better std dev? Thank you.
