I live in Georgia these days. I moved from CA about 2 years ago.
Just be careful if you happen to live in one of the restricted statesSo +9 it is. Thanks for the input. I was thinking 24 or 26 initially because that was the suggestions I got. I just happened to find a new M2 with a 28" barrel for 800, so I grabbed it.
There's no restriction on tube magazine capacities in CA. Just putting it out there.
Yet another spot where CA has it better than NJ in terms of gun laws. Amazing.
Not too sure about that. The way I read PC 16740, the only tubular magazines that are exempt from the 10 round maximum are tubular magazines affixed to 22 caliber and lever action rifles. I could be wrong

Good point. I have pouches to far forward on my L10 belt.
I'm thinking a new rig may be in order to avoid the headache of moving and swapping everything around.
If you're going to do that, it would be a good time to think about using the Safariland ELS system.
-
Appendix D5, race holsters are specifically prohibited...sorry
-
Safariland sells the inner belt separately, either the hook or the loop.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but it sure sounds like a follower problem, especially since it has worked before. If the follower is plastic, take it out and inspect it for burrs. It doesn't take much for the follower to hang up in the tube. My gun would cycle one round, hang up on the next, fire two in a row, then hang up again. I polished the mag tube and follower, then the problem went away.
-
If it works without the mag extension, I would suspect the mag spring is getting hung up either a burr on the extension or existing mag tube, or the mag spring retaining dimples weren't completely removed. You are using an extended spring, aren't you?
-
I also gave mine up. I use an elastic armband to hold either slugs or buck, if more than 4 are required on a stage.

I lost one of the retention end caps used on the Blade-Tech DOH Offset.
Blade-Tech has the hardware kit for $1.99 but the shipping is more than $10. I am hoping to find something local. What do they call this kind of end cap? Thanks.
I guess you don't need it now, but for future reference, they're called binder screws.
-
I cracked one also. Might have to do with cold temperature. My notches are in the insert.
-
I pry the insert out, there's a small notch in the side of the insert, be careful, the insert is a little brittle. Start the insert out in the notch and work your way around

Got a link? I tried a search and it resulted in a whole bunch of different types of earplugs.
-
Weight limit is 2oz over listed weight for all production guns
-
If you're planning on production, basepads aren't really needed without a mag well, and max in the mag is 10
-
I'm not familiar with that trigger. Can you put the stock parts back in one by one, until the gun works? Without taking it to a smith, that's what I would do.

Hi All,
Having shot IPSC open for almost 20 years I am revisiting the "p" in practical and giving production a try. Wow a lot has changed.
Blade-tech and Comp-tech seem to be good choices, but I would like to know for sure what is legal for IPSC.
I am pretty long in the arms and have had several shoulder injuries so hauling out of a bet ride/concealment type holster just isn't going to be fun.
Thanks,
DL
Those are both good choices for USPSA production, Bladetec is probably the most popular. I'm not sure if they are legal for IPSC. From a casual scanning of IPSC rules, I'm not sure if they allow dropped holsters, but the offset is good.

I am a fan of the Sport Ears. electronic protection. The foam plugs provide 31 db NRR which is excellent. The quality of the sound is sufficient to hear what is going on. Crank the volume all the way up and I've found myself swatting at mosquitoes from across the range.
The only concern, over the past year, is that the battery door is delicate. I broke the door once trying to remove a battery. Sport eras fixed it but I have to really watch myself when battery replacement. I did buy a bulk of batteries online from ebay as it seems I forget to turn the plugs off and find them dead.
The cost is high compared to box stores. 200-400. I justify this by saying you only get one shot to protect your ears and this is the price of one cheap gun.
All in all, I am pleased with the plugs and would recommend.
i got a set of those when they first came on the market. I also broke one of the battery doors. The other wouldn't open, so I sent them back for repair. They fixed the one I broke and just pried the other door open. When I got it back, the door was still sticking, so I had to send them back again. The sound quality isn't what I wanted, so it's back to my ProEars Gold. I'm glad you like yours, but I wouldn't recommend them.

kmca - could you point me to that ruling from NROI regarding grandfathered mags? I can't seem to find it.
Thanks!
Here's a link to the thread I started discussing this:

RE Rule 3.3.1. So if a state prohibits possession of a magazine with a capacity > 10 rnds, how does a person from that state compete in a USPSA competition held out of state in a division like Open, Limited, or CO if it had a mag capacity limit of 15 and not violate the state law?
Magazines in possession prior to a cut-off date are allowed in a few states.

I believe it was Amadon that made that ruling, so it was a while ago. I'll look to see if I can find it.

Re comment on 15 rnd vs 10. With 15 you now have to have 2 divisions: one with 15 and one with 10. Otherwise, states with 10 capacity restrictions are left out. Might not be a bad idea to do that. Then maybe people would start voting the idiots out of office and start doing away with stupid laws.
no, states with 10 round capacity restriction will just go to 10 rounds. there's already a rule for that.
Except that won't work where grandfathered magazines are allowed
You might be allowed to have the magazines, but the law restricting capacity are imposed equally across the board:
3.3.1: In states where competitors are restricted by law to maximum magazine capacity, that maximum capacity will be the maximum allowed for all competitors in the contest. Any such limitations must be made known to all competitors by the Match Director/Range Master before the start of the match.
The NROI was asked last year to clarify that rule. We were told that it doesn't apply to states that allow "grandfathered" magazines.
