$250 is just the part. There are also shipping, fitting and range test charges associated with it from the quote I received.

You left out the part where you shot it with loose grip screws and broke the frame. The range charge is for testing the gun with 3 different barrels after replacing the frame. $1,235 is the total you were quoted which included all parts, labor, shipping and coating to rebuild your gun.

    Please quit misleading people.

  2. Honchos require wipe down and oil after every stage? That’s just silly and untrue. What those few who own a Honcho and don’t care for it didn’t tell you is that there is an entire website forum dedicated to the gun with care instructions, how to videos and trouble shooting guides. Every owner has access and can post, ask questions, etc. just the same as here. It is monitored not only by PT but by their team shooters who go out of their way to help. They also provide a FREE yearly service where PT deep cleans, inspects, replaces the recoil, main and firing pin springs and will freshen up the trigger job if needed.

The Honcho is a friction based system. It requires lubrication on the lock block. There are Honchos approaching 100k rounds of major ammo with the same lock block, no issues. PT even recommends an inexpensive product that doesn’t run out of the gun in hot temps and has been very successful in staying where applied and keeping lock blocks oiled.

If you have questions on the linkless barrel system or any internet rumors, give PT a call.

Honcho use to be a great buy then they caught on and the price skyrocketed.

like a previous poster mentioned to get the whole thing with everything its like 8500 now

    no mags no extras

from my own eyes and experience at this price i think i would choose something else if i was thinking of buying now

    that is just me

if other guys are happy im glad they are and have a great outfit

$8,500 for 5-8 guns in one with all the options doesn’t seem like a bad deal. A single barreled open set up came up to right around $5k. Which is on par, if not cheaper than most other builders.

So PT is running a sale to the end of this week in the Honcho race shop 2 free barrels and 25% off. Priced my build out to $3500 which seems to be a pretty stellar deal for an open pistol. Is there anything else in that price range worth looking at? Is the honcho GTG/worth the money/wait?

You may want to read their sale post again. Didn’t say anything about 2 free barrels

    Not lies.

It's in Australia if that helps identify it? There aren't that many around. He might be on his third and broken 2. I don't pay that much attention.

There is one there that it took some time for the owner to actually watch the oiling video instead of just pouring oil on the slide. Lack of oil on the locking block is the only way to break one. It’s a friction system, like an engine, it needs oil.

I'm not buying the whole shortage thing. Nobody else is 30 weeks out on a gun that is a mass produced model. And coating isnt a 3 week or more wait. I've personally had guns built this year and there was no details due to parts or coating at all.

I bet they’re just standing around picking their butts and drinking bourbon. Sounds like you should order a gun from somewhere else.

  7. FWIW from a company who’s sponsored a match or two...

The problem for companies and sponsorship is that outside of Nationals, there is zero USPSA oversight. Even at the state and area level. If a company sends $5k in product to an area match multiple things can happen with the product:

    Put on shooter prize table.

    Put in shooter bags.

    Used in random draw.

    Put on RO prize table.

    Raffled off for cash.

Given as prize for “x” place.

Never makes it past staff hands.

If a company sends product and the last example happens, there is zero recourse for the company. USPSA does not oversee any matches besides Nationals. By no oversight that means no financial accountability from match fees or proceeds, no guidance or rules on sponsorship. The only real accountability is that in order to be a sanctioned match, USPSA rules must be followed.

Could the company sue, sure. But the exuberant legal fees and the backlash from shooters would be detrimental.

I know that if there were more checks and balances when it came to sponsorship, donated items and financial responsibility, more companies would come back to sponsoring matches.

I do know that USPSA has been doing much better in recent years for Nationals sponsors. Even though I couldn’t make the match, I saw plenty of PT and Blue Bullets logos in videos and saw quite a few of their sponsored shooters in USPSA’s posts.

ROI is a different story. I’ll skip the book I could write on it and just say... If matches had accountability and sponsors ready to donate, it would be much easier for sponsors to work with the match to ensure their investment sees a return.

Most of us had a quoted delivery way before covid kicked off.

Your build is 8 weeks past the quoted lead time. COVID restrictions have been in place longer than that. I understand that it is frustrating. But please don’t spread false information. If you need to go a different direction, I completely understand. Feel free to give me a call on Monday to discuss options.

That's simply not correct.  1911/2011 link failures are due to improper barrel fitting that results when the rearward movement is stopped by the link instead of the VIS.  It's a manufacturing defect, not a design defect.  The failure of the part in the photo appears to be a design issue.

Your assessment of the Honcho design is incorrect. If you would like to discuss it or if anyone would like additional info on the lock block in the photo, feel free to give us a call as we are not actively monitoring or replying to this forum.

I am not unhappy , I just do not like the fact you claim to be waiting on information from me, you never called me.

i know I have emailed you and never received a response. I have called and never revived a callback.

you claim to have mentioned a color change delay, I never received that email. Nor have I gotten receipt or even a build sheet the I ordered.
you should be looking at your systems to see why.

you where on 2 emails from my ffl today alone, you claim not to have seen. Seems you need to start looking at why and not sit and blame me.

I have addressed your concerns here. If you have any more questions or concerns, please give me a call. You have our business number as well as my cell. If you’d like any copies of emails, receipts or build sheets, I’d be happy to supply them.

How did they set the record straight?

claiming I did not respond to an email asking if I wanted the color changed? I never asked for the color to be changed.

i sent an email to them in the beginning of the week, asking for status . They never responded.

They claim my FFL never reached out to them . My FFL forwarded   me the email with attachment they sent to the in March and CCed them.  So they now have two copies of the FFL documentation and I sent them a third today as well as I had to forward them the copy.  Yet they never called me to say I am missing this paperwork.

Bob - If you are truly  unhappy and believe you have been ignored and wronged, I am willing to refund your money. If you’d like this option please give me a call (To avoid any email miscommunication) on Monday before noon EST.

The first time I have seen copy of my build sheet was in April of 2020 when you asked for final payment. I have never received a copy of it after I placed my order in November of 2019.

When I filled out my build sheet , I specified the color, if you had an issue with the color you should have called.  I never requested a change in color, why would you think I needed to reply?  This makes no sense and goes to the lack of communication I mentioned.

I sent you an email in the beginning of the week , you did not reply .
I am hearing that you do not have a copy of my FFL’s paperwork, I am hearing about it now? This is a major problem.  This is documentation you need.

I just sent an email to my FFL and CCed you. So we should have this information today. My ffl told me you had this end of March. Though the FFL has shown the email he sent with copy of the FFL.

    notice how quickly he responded.

i don’t expect response in minutes like cccp Llc did, but 2 or 3 days would be nice.

Like I said you folks respond quickly to getting your money , good luck getting anything else out of you.

You felt you did not have my FFLs info and documents , you did not call me to get it.

You were provided a copy of your build sheet with the welcome email, same as everyone. It was sent other times before April as well.

I sent you an email asking if you would like to switch from your chosen color of grey to black DLC. I explained that the coating company had reached out saying the DLC would be done much sooner. I did not receive a response so I left it as is. Could it be possible that some of my emails went into a junk or spam folder? I have honestly responded to all of your emails that warranted a response (ie answered questions, provided updates). I did not reply to the last email I received on the 14th which stated: “Perfect, you should have me paid in full on 4/3/2020. Look forward to seeing the pistol soon.” You received a credit card receipt email. So I’m not sure what information I could have provided in a response. I apologize if you were expecting a response or other information?

We had not received an email from your FFL. I checked spam as well. It is not holding anything up. We just have to have a copy before it ships. I did receive the one that was sent today.

I’m genuinely sorry that your gun was held up at coating past our estimated lead time. I understand that it is frustrating especially with so many having extra time on their hands currently. Unfortunately it is completely out of our control and why we can only provide estimates. We are and will continue to do all that we can to get your Honcho out to you and ensure you’re happy with it.

Yes I agree. They are quick to respond to get your deposit or final payment, but good luck getting a timely reply for status or acknowledgement of payment.

While I understand making firearms is not the primary business , and they are a machine shop that makes and manufacturers things for others industries . So I can live with the slowness of getting my gun, I understand my job taking a back seat to what pays the bills.

what I find weird is the lack of basic communication to the customer and lack of professional follow up. This is something a paying customer should expect.  For example you pay a deposit you get an email confirming that you paid , how much you paid and what you specifically you ordered , and what the balance is. When you pay in full you get another emailing stating what you paid for ,what the parts are ... etc. this is point of sale 101.

They have terrible follow up and communication. This is something I hear from honcho owners.

i wonder if the machine shop customers get the same level of communication and follow up? If they do, this explains why so many companies outsource to China to manufacture.

much of the lack of polish in sale is normal in this industry, I own 2 atlas pistols and was not provided a receipt.

but when I email or call Adam, I do get a response In minutes. Kind of makes up for the lack of paper work.

In order to receive clear communication you should provide clear communication. Submitting an order under one name and emailing under a completely different name makes it hard to effectively communicate with you about your order. You were provided with payment receipts as payments were made as well as multiple copies of your build sheet.

You were sent an email about an option to change colors and receive your Honcho weeks ago. But never responded....

Your Honcho (in the color requested) arrived yesterday. It will be ready to ship on Monday. I am still waiting on a copy of the FFL. If you could get that over it would be much appreciated.

  15. Hola! An email was sent out on 1/13 advising of the delay. If you have a question or want to chat, give us a call or send us a message. With the current closures and craziness going on we are focusing on supply, production and responding to all inquiries as quickly as we can. We will not be monitoring this forum or providing information here. Again, get in touch with us with any questions. I guarantee we have better information than what you’ll find here regarding your Honcho : )

So, do you want everyone who shoots your 9 major guns to use spec 9mm ammo that fits a case gauge?

Why didn’t the owner’s other 2011’s have finish issues?  He was using your safety different from his other 2011’s safety?

The rhetoric that comes out of your company offends me just as much as if it were any company producing the false rhetoric.

I don’t care about you as an individual.  I care about the impact your company has on the firearm’s and competition industry.  I pray it continues to be a positive one.  Too many companies are taking their industry and loyal followers for granted.

Here’s another thing.  I’ve known you guys and your company since it was first starting and had a booth at the 2011 Florida Open.  I haven’t had any issues with it and thought it was cool you were producing cheaper, quality 2011 parts.  So, the question is, why am I calling some things out now?  Maybe because they are unfair to people paying your company thousands and thousands of dollars?

    How terrible of me.

I feel 1,000% good with how we have interacted with both of your friends. You are obviously missing some key information. And that’s ok. Your friends, our customers, know the truth and have been taken care of. My offer stands if you’d like to give me a call and chat about this situation or any other issues you have. And I mean that genuinely. Our number is 352-667-4932 - Tiffany

    Not true.  Please reread.

Two guys here had issues.  Two of them were disconnector issues.  One had finish issues.

After PT blamed the one with finish issues on the extractor and subsequently his ammo, they then got the gun back in and realized they were finish issues.

The other one had an issue with his sear spring that PT subsequently fixed.

Either way, neither of the ones delivered in the DFW area worked from the factory.

The only misunderstood aspect was that I thought PT had blamed both owners for ammo and extractor issues instead of just the one.

It appears they eventually fixed the issues, but yeah, it was screwed up to try to blame anything on the owner to begin with before receiving the guns back.

Once again, you should really get the whole story. Ammo that won’t fit a case gauge will not run reliably in most any gun. If advising a customer of the issue is “blaming” them. Then I guess we did. If advising a customer that the thumb safety has been partially engaged while the slide is cycling to the extent it wears the coating off is blaming them in your mind, again, not much we can do about that. Helping a costumer properly reassemble their gun so that all of the parts are installed properly is something we will always do, regardless of who wants to blame who.

Are we perfect? Absolutely not. But we stand behind every product we make and will do whatever we need to to make sure our customers are taken care of.

I don’t know you personally or what I’ve done to offend you. If you’d ever like to give us a call and chat, I’m sure it won’t take long to figure out that we are normal, working people, probably just like you.
