Hilarious!

junk.

edit:
I jokingly made a comment and realized it may not have been taken well.
So....it's gone. My apologies if I have offended anyone. My wife tells me I do that from time to time.

Don't mess with the OAL. You don't need to go any shorter than 1.241"
Get a Lee FCD and I think you're problems will disappear.
-
How much crimp are you putting on the rounds?

one of the pins coming out of the jig was not square to the jig.
Absolutely true! When you put pressure on the sear as you're stoning it, the pin will bend over time and the result is an uneven surface.

I know you had challenges with yours, I don't know if they were worse, the same or better than the ones I've had, but so far, I'm encouraged...
I'm still very bitter over the whole ordeal. I try to talk about it here, but I always end up coming back and deleting my comments.
I'm glad you got yours running and you've learned a lot from the experience.
Dillon is known for their customer service, and I agree, they are pretty awesome. But they aren't perfect. An apology would have gone a long way with me.

I had an issue years ago. It was the federal primers. I switched to Winchester and CCI primers and the problem never happened again.

This will plug into a laptop computer, and you can really see what is going on.
I'm still using the handheld job from Brownells, and that works just fine too. It's been discontinued though.

the common cause is a short sear.
That's a great idea. This is from the Kuhnhausen manual.

Let me know what you think,
Alan
I think you are very persistent. Kudos to you for sticking it out.

How much pre travel do you have on the trigger itself?
How are you adjusting your sear spring?
The Brownells article by Weigand, I've found, doesn't produce a proper primary angle. Do you have a microscope so you can look at the primary angle? I set my jig at around 20 clicks to get the cut on the primary angle.
On a side note, I always found Springfield Armoty guns "different" when it came to doing trigger work.

I talked to Bob about this a few years ago when we were at a match in Michigan. I noticed a rather large callus on his hand and he told me he would actually cut the callus down with fingernail clippers before a match.
Any recoil control advantage from a grip like that would be just a Pyrrhic victory.
Bob won the L-10 Nationals and 2 World Championships (in less than a week?). He's been using that grip for years, and I've lost track of how many National Title's he's won. I have to disagree with your statement Lior.

1)liquid tumbler
2)a better way to empty the powder measure
3)I'd like to see the mods we do on these machines come that way from the factory
4)an upgrade for the old machines (see picture below)
5)a spring or lock washer for the die lock rings
6)a more affordable automatic primer filler like some of the homemade systems on this forum that cost 10-15 bucks to make. The one I saw here is very similar to the Vibra Prime.

Art, I sent you a PM.

I need to stay off these 1050 threads.

My SW1911PC (PC = Performance Center) failed.
Your problem isn't the plunger tube. Your problem is the gun you're shooting.
I wouldn't rely on anything made by Smith and Wesson (especially a "Performance Center" gun), and I wouldn't be surprised if you continue to have problems.

Welcome to the forum PoFF. Hopefully, you'll get this all figured out.
Best of luck to you.

That's too bad. How solid is the table that the press is mounted to?
It's an 8 foot bench with 8-4x4's as legs, the top is made from 3 sheets of 3/4" MDF and everything is lag bolted together. In the picture, on the bottom shelf, is about 20,000 230 grand .45 ACP bullets.

I took everything apart, polished everything, and installed a uniquetek micrometer. As it turns out, it was a colossal waste of time. I haven't notice any difference between my polished powder measure and a stock dillon measure.

shooting a prop ........................even if the shooter was not actually handling the gun in an unsafe manner
I think I see your point, but I have a hard time calling someone a "safe" gun handler after they've shot a prop. Clearly, they didn't mean to do it, right?
There is no such thing as a stage DQ. You get a DQ, you pack up your gear and watch.
The Match Director at an IDPA match can do whatever they please.

A laptop bag works well too.
