It hangs up if I don't quickly rack the slide and let it go. If I follow it back part of the way it jams up in the same way. It only does it on the last round in the mag when live firing though.

Thanks. I will have a look at it tonight. I remember it being held by the extractor, because I can eject the round fine, or pull the slide back a bit and the round will feed...so it seems that the slide is catching the round in the right place, but I'll check for sure tonight when I can have another look at it.

Just got my new Para s1640 and am having problems with it jamming on the last round. This is my 4th pistol, but the only one I've bought as new so I'm not used to break in periods. The last round in the mag (happens in my mecgar and factory 10 round mags, I'm getting some factory standard caps and will test in those too) is jamming in the chamber, at about a 45 degree angle and the slide wont close, even with a stiff smack to the rear of the slide.
Should I just shoot it more and let it break in? Or do as someone else suggested and get a stronger recoil spring? or is there something else I should be trying.
Thanks.

I find Para's service to be very good, see if you can get them to replace the whole thing. How new is the gun?

My dealer had 1 1640, and it's mine when it arrives tomorrow.
Back on topic...Mecgar has mags for the p16, although they only hold 15 because of some silly follower they are using or something

Mind telling where you got it? None of the dealers here can get the sterling flavor.

You definitely need to have both eyes open to compete at a high level in action type shooting events. I'm fairly new to all this stuff as well and the best training aid I ever got was a .22 with a red dot sight on it. I learned to keep both eyes open to use the sight, then transitioned that to handgun sights and went from there.
