  1. I bought an 85C a few months back and had all of the CGW parts installed along with everything polished up. The trigger and reset were incredible but for me the gun had a ton of muzzle flip. I tried everything to tame the muzzle but it just wasn't happening for me. I have since sold the pistol. My SP-01 Shadow on the other hand had hardly any muzzle flip. I definitely prefer the SP-01 over the 85C or 75.

  2. Thanks for all of the replies and insight guys. I picked up the new 35 today. Took it out and shot 100 rounds of WWB 165gr FMJ just to be sure it functioned properly before we start cutting on it. WOW, this thing has some pop compared to my 147gr hand loads in my 34! Hopefully when all is said and done I can tame the recoil and muzzle flip. To be completely honest, the gun wasn't much fun to shoot in stock configuration with factory ammo.

Ordered everything we need to load .40 on the 650 today as well. What load have you guys found the 35 likes the best? Obviously soft shooting is paramount!

  3. I have a Glock 35 limited gun. I spared no expense and put a ton of money into it. Now it sits in the safe and I shoot an STI.

IMO if you really want an ultimate limited gun it's not a glock.

Sure, at 3 times the price!

  4. Thanks for all of the advice so far guys. I am really excited about this build!

For those of you who have lightened your slides, how much weight have you removed? I definitely plan to send my slide to Doug @ DP Custom Works for some slide milling/lightening.

  5. After shooting IDPA for the last few years I have decided to make the transition to USPSA. I shot a few matches in Production and enjoyed it but Limited is more popular in my area and it just looks like more fun. I am thinking of picking up a new Gen4 35 for the purposes of building a Limited gun. With that said, if you were building the ultimate Limited gun using the Glock platform how would your build look? What parts would it consist of? Not really concerned about staying under a certain dollar amount but I don't want to waste money either. Just trying to get a few ideas as I start to collect parts for the build over the next few days. Thanks for any input.

  6. I am looking at picking up an STI 1911 in 9mm that I can use for both Single Stack and the ESP Division of IDPA. I have been looking at the Trojan most intently but wanted to get you all's advice as this will be my first stent with the 1911 platform. I have spent the last few years shooting the polymer guns in IDPA, and the last few months, USPSA Production. Is there another model that I should look at? I would prefer to stay with STI if possible.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

  7. You have to file the slide or the sight to fit, but it's not too bad. The Shadow cut is lower on the hammer side, but the standard cut is the same on both sides.

    Thank you sir!

  8. Bumping this back up to see if anyone is still using the 165's? I haven't loaded any as of late as I have been running 147's but still have a few thousand 165's on the bench. I plan to load a few hundred this evening and try them in my 5" M&P with the Apex barrel. They ran great with the factory barrel so hopefully it will be the same with the Apex, with improved accuracy hopefully.

  9. What recoil springs are everyone running with these? I noticed in their fitting video that apex recommend the stock recoil spring. Is anyone running this barrel with either a 13 or 15 lb spring?

I am running mine with a 13lb recoil spring.

  10. Just curious what you Glock 34 guys are loading your OAL to for 147gr bullets? I am currently using Xtreme bullets and planned to keep using them, unless of course you have found another bullet to work better with the Glock. Thanks in advance.
