  1. Alaska, which brand of load 2 stuff do you use?
  2. Sounds like a lot of you like the ELS system over the Tek Lok, huh? If you get a pair of these you can adapt the the 4x4 with tec lok and remove them very easily when you know you're going to go prone. http://www.ebay.com/...=item5896c11556
  3. These 2 systems seem to be based on the same idea? Thoughts from any of you guys who've used them as to pros/cons for each for strong hand loading? Thanks
  4. Just sent my carrier off to Jeff at C-Rums for welding up. Besides that, I'm gonna get some extended Tru Lock chokes and call it good!
  5. Guys, in looking at caddies, I like the AP caddies because of sturdy construction and Tek Lok. Thoughts on 4 rd vs. 4x4, please? Also, thoughts on the APs vs. MM?
  6. The Armscors look like a great option for all around use. Thanks
  7. I forgot: so, to clarify, 7 o'clock with bullets toward spine would be "bullets to rear"? Sorry to sound stupid...just want to order it right.
  8. Thanks. Got a couple of the Nordic +18's on the way. Think I might order 1 Blade Tech pouch, just in case.
  9. Looking to order Blade Tech AR mag pouches and wondering pros/cons of "bullets to front or bullets to rear" setup? That's a selection to make on their site when ordering. I'm new to this game...thoughts?
  10. Thanks again for all the info guys. This stuff really helps a newbie in the sport.
  11. Forgot to mention that I tore down, cleaned and lubed the gun well before taking it to the range.
  12. So I got my 930 JM earlier in the week and got to the range for a quick trip yesterday. Never owned a Mossberg before. Just felt there were higher quality options out there. But I'm just getting started in 3-Gun and wanted to save some money. The reports on the JM were mostly favorable, and it seemed almost completely set up for the sport, so I figured what the heck (will be sending my follower to C-Rums for welding up and getting some Tru-Lock extended chokes, but that's about it). Picked up the gun locally for $569, which I felt was a pretty good deal (got the 8+1, 22" model). Range report not particularly exciting, but I fired 60 shells of mixed variety with no malfunctions of any kind. Ejection was brisk and consistent and the gun feels relatively "soft". I like it a lot, and I'm relieved that it ran 100%. I fired the following: 1 box of Mirage (Italian) 7 1/2, 2 3/4 dram, 1 1/8 oz. 1 box of Remington "All Purpose Sport Loads" 8, 3 1/4 dram, 1 oz. 10 leftover Remington "Nitro Mag" 6's. These had some pop! These shell were all SEVERAL years old. Been sitting around forever. Anyway, I didn't have time to pattern. Just shot them out to 20 yards on silhouettes. That's it for now, but I'm liking this shotgun so far! shuter
  13. Thanks for the tips guys. Looks like some do use muffs, even with long guns. Might shoot some more with muffs and see if I can get used to them with the SG, especially. The recoil has tended to knock mine around a bit. shuter
  14. I've typically used full muff-type "ears" at the range. With 3 gun involving 2 long guns, however, I assume most use something else. What do you guys use and recommend? Thanks shuter
  15. Thanks brother. Really appreciate it!
  16. Would you mind sharing your particular loads for the 115 and 124's? thanks
  17. Pardon my ignorance, but I assume that when you load the 115's down (when there is no PF), there will be certain targets that will prove too tough to knock down consistently? I'm just thinking I will go with 124's for all around use, or 115's loaded hot enough for the toughest targets I'm likely to encounter? I know I'll have more recoil, but I'll just be shooting local matches anyway (at least for the foreseeable future.
  18. Appreciate it, guys! I will read up on the thread linked above...looks like a lot of good info. Thanks Mark. shuter
  19. Thanks guys. Awesome info. Really appreciate the help! shuter
  20. Thanks guys! One thing in common...seems like N320 is a popular choice, with everything from 115-147 grain!
  21. Guys, just getting started in the 3 gun game and I'm wondering what you guys use for ammo, bullet weight, etc. Even specific loads, if you roll your own? Thanks shuter
  22. Just getting started in 3 gun and picked up a 930 JM Pro. What are you guys running in your 12 gauges for loads, shot size, & economical yet reliable shells for birdshot loads? How about buckshot? Slugs? Thanks shuter
  23. Hey guys, just starting to dabble in 3 gun. Got a Glock 34 and I'm wondering what bullet weight is thought to be "best" for that sport, if there is a single weight? Also, any help with specific powder charges, etc. would be welcome. Thanks in advance. shuter
