I shot a match this past weekend and saw a 2.5 moa dot as big as the target at 25 yards in the morning Sun, is there a glare shield for it anywhere?

Thats weird, I had S2, S3 and Limited Pro all at one time and found the Limited Pro has polygonal rifling and S3 has normal land/groove.I bought my Stock 3 from Ben Stoeger Pro Shop last week. To update the list above, my barrel has polygonal rifling.

He builds Max M. Guns that's a great endorsement in it self

+1Production is a fine place to learn this game and you may find yourself wanting to stay there for more than a year. While open is fun, it brings a whole new set of challenges. I am learning that the hard way right now.
While setting a goal of hitting "A" class is a great thing, focus more on your match performance. Classifications will come with time. Compare yourself to the "better" shooters at your local matches and see what they are doing differently. Find one of the top shooters in your division and squad with them. You will learn a lot this way.
Since you are new to the sport, here is my advise.
1. Dry fire, Dry fire, Dry fire... make all the basic gun handling skills subconscious.
2. Try to live fire at least once a week to confirm your dry fire. Personally, I live fire 2 to 3 times a week. I work on specific drills once or twice a week to improve in certain areas and try to setup a stage once a week to get a better understanding of my overall performance.
3. Have someone video you at the match. You will quickly identify the areas that you need to work on.
4. Get into reloading if you aren't yet. While this will not save you money, (you will shoot more) it will allow you to tailor a load to your gun to get the best possible performance. Also reloading is a must if you do go to open in the future.
5. Get exposure to a few major matches.. Nebraska has two matches coming up.. The Great Plains Sectional and the Area 3 Championship.
If you do decide to go to open in the future, get what you want the first time as it will save you a ton of cash in the long run.

Stay in production for a bit, I did and I learnt so much from it. IMO if you built a strong foundation you can shoot anything well.
-
And now I've decided to stay in open so I sold both of my production guns. Like everyone else said once you're gone open you don't want to go back.
-
I just sold both of my stock2 recently to concentrate in open division and help me fund another open build but thats comes after I made A in production now I'm at 83% in production. I bought my first open gun from a forum member on here just to learn from it while I was heavily into production. Things I learnt from shooting open have helped me a lot in production since some of the stuffs you can't really see or do in production.

I just saw Speedshooter has the STI in stock

Brad, why don't you get the CK frame kit with the steel grip?
-
I zeroed my slide ride at 18 yards so did the RTS2, pretty much right on from 10-25 yards out just a little hold over at really close target. Can't say much since I just switched to it, only shot a hundred rounds and one local match with it. Will need lots of dry firing since the index is off.

Same updated from Cmore

+1 also pay attention to your grip I've known people jump the conclusion his dot is unpredictable! You can make pretty much anything work. I wouldn't try to make the gun flatter by changing your load, try paying more attention to the fundamentals of your grip and stance. It is very easy to become lazy behind the gun when you shoot open.

I second that, had them Xtreme key-holing at Florida Open 2 years ago, switched to PD 124gr JHP ever since.

Thanks guys! I'll keep my serendipity for now.
