  1. Never tried it with 9 major though. I'm getting another gun built and will be 9 major. Just wanna see if it's optimum with 9 major.

  2. I really liked SR4756 in 38super and was a little bummed when they stopped making it.  I read that Chris Hodgdon said something about ww572 being a replacement for it, and I got a pound of ww572 to try but right off the bat they are obviously different  - one is a flake, the other a ball and the density is quite different.   I haven't developed any loads with ww572 yet but physically it looks a lot like the silhouette/HS-6/WAC/CFE family of powders.  When I get off my PCC kick and get back into open I was going to work up a load and compare to similar 38 super rounds loaded with SR4756.

What's your .38 load with 4756 if you don't mind me asking?

  3. Yeah I've been using it for about a year now (when I started shooting open) and I think it works well though I really haven't tried anything else besides doing a work up of HS-6 which I didn't like. I'm thinking about trying Silhouette when I run out of my last 8# keg.

My load is 7.3gn 572, WSP, 124gn MG JHP, 1.165 OAL which makes 172 PF.

Thanks for the info! I have some 4756 to try which I believe is the same as Win 572

  4. .

More likely slamming the round in harder.

Ammo can be too long (fixed by reaming) or too fat.  Reaming the led longer won't fix that!

I was thinking something like primer flow like in open gun case by looking at his picture but his was by firing pin dragging it.

He took the bolo out and was still getting light hits. I will say I'm surprised it still occurred w the PD 14#. Yet moved to a lighter firing pin and it went away? Something isn't adding up. Esp since using the EG light spring. He literally went to lighter firing pin and spring and it cured the light strikes. That goes against pretty much every single persons experience here when tuning these.

Sounds like he went with heavier recoil spring too. Delay the barrel unlocking just a bit.

  6. Jack,
If you happen to make it to the match here in Orlando on the 3rd Sunday, I am more happy to let you shoot my ammo I have enough for you to shoot a whole match with. 124gr PD JHP with 7.3gr WAC 1.175"
PD is good enough! Heck I won B at Hurricane National last year with it!!

  8. How is the X5 slide lock release? Same position as the full size P320? I had the full size for a little bit and sold it since my thumb kept hitting the slide lock release. If it's not in the way like the full size I might take a hard look at it again.
    Thanks
