Yep if you try it with heavy bullets and fast powder your Comp is just a Barrel weight .
-
Aftec is a solution for a non existing problem .
A proper tuned normal extracter is more reliable , seen more problems created by aftecs then solved .
-
Thats no luck they just have great customer service !

Case will not eject. I basically have single shot pistol. If I use a test bullet and rack the slide all the way back the case does eject. I'm thinking the powder is the problem. I was looking for confirmation or ideas before I move forward.Just to be clear , does'nt the gun Extract or does'nt he Eject ?
Indeed that sounds like a powder problem , load is just not hot enough to get the slide back far enough .

I think your gun is setup for Major power factor and your load just is'nt hot enough .
If you want to shoot major with it get some different powder , if not change the springs .
But first look if your ejector is oke ( not broken ) .
-
Let us know how it went , but if i look at your pictures than your right ,and is it not far enough forward .
And if you decide to buy a frame mounted thumbsafe get a adjustable one so you can try different positions and angles .
DAA makes a nice one .
-
Maybe a frame mounted thumbrest would be better for you , so the paddle is a bit more forward and a little lower .
With this set up your thumb is pointing slightly upward because the rest is not under the tip of your thumb but under the joint .

Take it to a Smith who knows what he is doing a good one can create a trigger with a < 2LBS pull without safety isues.
A smith that can not make a save < 2 LBS triggerpull with a complete litespeed 2 ignition kit sucks .
Mine did a save 1,5 LBS (700 grams)for me with my stock STI parts ( and i even can go lower ).
-
Why not just take the Thumbrest of if this is interfering with the normal way you hold your gun ?
And just shoot it the same way as you shoot your Glock ?
If you don't need ( like ) a thumbrest don't use one , instead of changing the way you hold your gun .

Yes blend it in the pinned position , at least if your not be using it in the unpinned position ever again .

Great post beerbaron
Agreed! Very good post indeed!
Yep... when it comes to open guns there is very little new under the sun... (and if you go back far enough the had steel frams and grips... we though goingnto plastic grips was progress... :-) go figure)
Yep and on Open guns you see people going back to plastic grips , after trying steel .

Mine is at 1.5 lb ( 700 grams)and i love it but it takes some time to get used to it .
Some never do so for them it is to lite , at the other end i know some one who has a 0.9 lb trigger and for him mine is heavy .

In my STI mags with spacers i can load up to 1.188 without any problems .
I use the D.A.A springs and followers .
-
If your told that you have to push down on the safety to control recoil they told you wrong .
You ride the thumb safety to get a high grip on the gun and that controls the recoil so don't push down on the safety just let your thumb rest on it .

For my IPSC standard gun ( abouth the same as limited only just 126 mm mags ) i have 6 mags in my bag .
I rotate them trough the 3 pouches on my belt normaly i only use 2 of them in one stage .
So i think with 5 your good to go , i only have 6 because when i bought the gun used i got 6 with it .
-
Think there are Grams guts in your mags ,you can modify them to not lock back at all ( witch is my personal prefference ) .
But it seems to be a P.i.t.a to get them to lock back reliable on a empty mag .

I don,t know for sure , but i would like to know the SVI distributor for europe is in Germany .
But to my knowledge he does not build them himself but orders them in the states , if this isn't so i would like to know because i love the looks of a SV .
But if i would buy one i want it to run out of the box !
-
Maybe in the States but the experience of ZeljkoLulic is more the norm here in Europe .
At least with the SV's of the last couple of years .
Seen lots of them that did not run straight from the factory .
-
@ JD 45 if it shoots great why bother , if the gun is closed you don't see it .
-
For me not on a Open gun , maybe on a limited dont like heavy guns in transisions .
