I've got a Pride on my open revolver, never had any problems with it, I just bought a Ultra Dot and put on my auto, I like it, it's only been a few months but I've not had any problems.

Three options that I know of, build it yourself, Action Target (the ones used at the Cup), Secure Firearms Products.

As a police range officer, I use the Pro ears gold, they are better than anything (electronic) that I've tried. The best plug I use is the new sure fire P7 with the foam tips, they fit better in the ear than the tips that have the ridges. If you want to double up remember that you don't get double the protection, the best you can hope to get is about 36-37 nrr. And with the muffs you are not getting full protection because the fit is not perfect, why, because you are wearing glasses and they keep the muffs from sealing completely. The best thing to do Is good plugs and electronic muffs.

Oh well, and how many are signed up for this match?

Yes, older books did.

Mark is right, you can go to the NRA's web site under competitions and down load the rule book, both answers are in the book.

Slicking up the trigger is a good start, the only thing I found to enhance the accuracy of the P226 9mm is to re-crown the barrel that has helped every one I've done. Some had a great effect some just made the groups rounder.

Making the timer sound a horn is easy, the individual part would be the problem.

I have both, the smith fits a little better but the SA shoots so much better, so much more accurate and it's cooler.

Any machine shop could put it upside down in a mill and remove material from the bottom of the barrel from the muzzle back toward the ejector, this would reduce weight and make it sit in the hand better, and you would not have to remove the barrel. If that did not work then you could start cutting off the length of the barrel.

Shot it for years, and competed at the nationals, it's fun and you really need to concentrate on trigger control and sight alignment.

Hole in hole drill, Draw and shoot 1 round, holster, draw and try to shoot the next round in the same hole. We also will draw a line across a target and get the students to try to hit the line twice in the same place, then holster and move over a little on the line and try again.

I always liked VV but its hard to find (spotty) and a little pricey.

In my revolvers 1050-1100 fps is the magic speed for accuracy with the 125gr JHP's, plus it give you a good buffer for the chrono.

It's really nice, winning one would be like winning a gun.
You mean they aren't attached to guns already...

That's nice to know Warren.......

HP38/231 works for both, great all around powder to start with, most all places carry it also because it's such a versatile powder making it easy to find.
