So you read what I said, you just didn't understand it.

Because I made two statements. First was that it would be a advantage, and why I think that. And the second that it would depend on what nearly identical means. If you're saying they weren't the same then that's vary different information that what I was commenting on.

Wow some people can't let go..  they were not the same or even similar they were very different not vary different.

Maybe next time instead of critiquing an honest and factual response you should spring for a ticket and indulge yourself in participating in a match of this level.. live the dream.. instead of living a life of assumptions.

Did you read the thread? Let me recap,@LordManHammersaid "it appears  many of the stages at World's are near identical to the Asian IPSC Handgun Championship" then @rowdybasked if that was a bad thing or not. I was responding to that.

If the stages were reused, then that would mean anyone who shot the Asian Championship had already seen, walked and shot those stages before. I have no doubt that would be a advantage. As I said, I've shot stages at majors that were nearly identical to ones I'd shot before. It at a minimum gives you a mental edge and a significant portion of these games is mental. Shooting activators ahead of time can be a even bigger advantage.

I did read the thread... I just shared my views and facts from actually being feet on the ground at both matches and clarified a few comments, and for the record as previously stated, the stages were not reused/recycled from the AHGC match in August. So no one gained any advantage from shooting activators etc.. Anyhow enough said from me on this thread, enjoy the festive season DVC

Thanks for clarifying.  I was only able to view the stages from both matches online.  It looks like they were very challenging and I bet you had a good time.  A trip to the other side of the world to shoot The Worlds is a pipedream of mine.

Hey, no problem I don't often comment or contribute on this platform, in this instance I thought I would share my 1st hand experience's and clarify a few comments. DVC ! And yes, had a great time and connected with fellow shooters with the similar mindsets.

I would think good if you shot that match, bad if you didn't. More so in ipsc where you can't pre walk stages. Imagine only getting 3-5 min to walk a 32 round stage with a 15 man. Meanwhile some guys not only walked the stage before but shot it once.

Does it really matter probably depends on how many stages and what exactly "near" identical means. At a minimum it can give you a little boost of confidence having shot a stage before. Especially one with activators. Most IDPA clubs around here "test" their stages for majors several times leading up to the match. I know from experience being the first shooter on a stage with a tricky activator I've already shot was a lot less stressful then it would of been if it was the first time I'd seen it.

Can you validate this comment please? Meanwhile some guys not only walked the stage before but shot it once.

As per IPSC rules which cover the rest of the world, the mandatory 3-minute walk through after stage briefing is applied, no one pre-shot the stages or walked them. And yes, you had 3 x minutes to walk the stage work a plan and then execute when called to the line, with no sight pictures at make ready or stalking in-between the next competitors run.

It appears many of the stages at World's are near identical to the Asian IPSC Handgun Championship held in July.

I competed in both matches and can assure you that the Asian IPSC Handgun Championship stages were not used for the WS stages, the Range was used and similar props on some stages, but they were not identical period. There were stages built at another range that mimicked some of the WS stages that all competitors had the opportunity to attend.

  6. Just reaching out to see how the new generation DPP with the new blue circuit board are holding out any failures as per the 1st generation green boards ? or is this design more robust? Please if you respond lets keep it on track and maybe how its mounted + slide plus round count.

  7. Bench, I picked them up from my local CZ dealer ( who is the CZ importer for Australia)  they are EEMANN TECH great product and huge range options.. I only run Federal primers with this set up, with a 10lb Hammer spring I can ignite S&B primers all day long..

  8. I run a stainless guide rod with a 12lb spring a CGW short reset kit etc and with a 9lb hammer spring and a slide milled to take a DPP I have 2 set up the same one has a large round count and shoots flat and uber reliable with 135grn HP Jacketed projectiles at 130+ power factor. I make the under 1 kg for IPSC PDOL if I want to run in that class or just shoot in PDO with the heavy boys, I have a S2OR factory model sitting in the safe unused..

  9. From the USPSA rule book, here's what's acceptable:

    Maximum size

Handgun and all magazines (revolvers are exempt)

    Yes, handgun with empty magazine inserted must fit wholly within a box with internal dimensions of 8 15/16” x 6” x 1 5/8” (tolerance +1/16”, -0”) (8.938”x6”x1.625”) (227.01mmx152.40mmx41.28mm)

    Hope this helps!

Thanks but we don't shoot USPSA in Oz , as stated its for Std class IPSC.

  10. Your club should have a box to check it with.

They do which is not a issue , but I didn't want to go down the path over here to acquire them only to find they don't comply .

  11. Hi Guys,

My new project G34 is now complete and ready to test , but I was wondering if anyone could advise Me on a issue ?

If I use 19Rd Genuine Glock Mag's Part #GLK1105 , Will the Pistol with Std Glock adjustable rear sights still fit in the Std Dim IPSC Box ? As per regulation's.

    Thanks in advance .

  12. Picked my one up yesterday. Looks well finished and I had a dry run last night fitting stock parts and a LW barrel to it with no issue's . So stage 2 now drop of for machining work well I work on my frame reduction.

Thanks a lot guys for all the positive replies I will post when I have more progress.

  13. Thanks guys I really appreciate the prompt replies I have one arriving next week , now to start the frame reduction phase ... All the other goodies are here .

  14. I am looking at a new IPSC project and was wondering if anyone has recently ( within the last year) bought and used a LW G34 Slide and if so had any issues ? And could share...

I have read reports from years back and I was just wondering if there quality had improved. I currently run a LW Barrel and have had no issues with it.

If this could be kept on subject it would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance..

  15. Hi, this is my first ever post on this site.

I have been a shooter of the CZ75 SP01 Shadow and recently just got my Grand Power X-Calibur MK12

Happy to answer any questions around these two guns.

As for holsters. I have ordered an LHS holster (so can let everyone know what that's like when I get it, but currenty using the Double Alpha Race Master holster - they now do a block insert for the GP-X-Calibur

Hi Chris how are you finding your X-Calibur , have you had much range time with it ? Any tips on loads etc ?

    Dave

  16. yeah talk about bad luck! slipped hammer (so probably not a full strength hit) and primer goes off... d'oh!

I double chcked btw. my CGW firing pin did come with the silver colour spring on it. the spare reduced power FP spring I bought (also from CGW) was black. I don't think there is any difference.

as I test I installed the follow into my shadow mate/orange 2012.

    8.5lb hammer spring

CGW extended FP with the reduced power (silver) FP spring.

Otherwise the gun is standard. I haven not polished the action etc. Does have a comp hammer which comes from the factory.

I've only done a basic function test with 2 full mags of a mix of federal SPP and Murom SPP (I had heard these are the same as wolf/tula but I'm not sure).

All rounds fired just fine. Second mag I shot as fast as I could pull the trigger and no problems. Yes it's a small sample size, but I'll try more as I go. first sign is encouraging as 8.5lb is a very light mainspring. the hammer hitting the firing pin sounds like a little 'flap' noise now!

Perhaps the murom are similar to wolf/tula but with better quality control? I've not had a dud in those in about 3,000 or so now.

these are what they look like:

So with the CGW pin etc installed does that bump you out of PD class in IPSC ?

Hi Dave O... Did you want to ask a real question or just trying to be clever?

As you no doubt already know, In IPSC production division a CGW firing pin is not legal.

In practice at my club I can use whatever pin is suitable for the primers I'm using. I also have a CZ UB extended pin and a couple of CZ UB standard pins which I use in matches with my federal primers. In fact in matches I use the standard length pin as there is no need for the extended pin with federal primers. I keep it as a spare.

With harder primers in practice I might use the CGW pin, or I might not.

This information was posted as it's helpful to most of the members here who shoot USPSA.

No Rich I was just furthering my knowledge on the CZ product and picked up on this thread ... Plus others which may help my Long Slide project . And as this forum has been very helpfull in the past with my Glock(s) set up I thought I would get my post count up ;-) .

See you at range in a couple of weeks ..
