Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. This match was a major disappointment. The stages were stale and not very original (AM side). The vendor area was very thin compared to years past. I would venture that the shitty economy had something to do with this. The dinner is usually free but ended up being 10 dollars for a pretty decent meal. I was also very surprised on Saturday night that they had decided to throw out stage 2. I spent several hours waiting to shoot this stage and watched 2 full squads run this stage. The main RO on this stage was an a_-hole and treated several people poorly. I blame this guy for the issue because they allowed people to game this stage and did not brief it right or issue procedural penalties for shooting thru the barricade. The last complaint I have is that the prize table was pretty thin. I am sure this was due to a lack of sponsorship. I talked two of my friends into spending alot of money to shoot this match and they were disappointed that the stages were easier than our club matches. We were highly disappointed that there were no side matches especially the cave shoot , needless to say they were pretty pissed at me. I always looked ahead to this match but I think I will try a different major next year in place of this one.
  2. I just wanted to thank EVERYONE who worked so hard to put this match on. The stages were great and the weather was awesome. Stage design was on par with a major match and ran smoothly. I am looking fwd to shooting this match regularly. Thanks Mike , Buddy , Charles and the entire staff of Tarheel 3 Gun. Butch Hylton
  3. 537 or so shooters , you are gonna have a few issues. Best match of this size I ever attended. Rockcastle is an awesome place to shoot and should be commended for keeping the chaos of such a large match to a minimum. ROs should be thanked for working in the heat and dealing with a huge variety of personalities , what a thankless job. They got a free match and a room? No way would I do it for that , NO WAY!
  4. Just got back from the match. That is going to be one heck of a nice place when they get it all done. I shot on Saturday and they struggled a little to get started but once we did we shot all the stages with very little wait time in between. The stages were a mixture of run and gun in the small bays to some very challenging long range shooting, you surely needed to understand your optic if you were going to shoot well. I think they did a pretty good job for their first big match but they surely can do better. There seemed to be a lot more shooters signed up for Sunday so it will be interesting to see some posts from those guys. The only thing they need to do to fix a few minor issues is have an experienced match director come in months ahead of time and get the match organized. Jeremy did a good job picking up the slack but is not experienced in putting on a match of this size. I look forward to shooting this match again next year and lets all remember that this match was for a good cause, Task Force Dagger, I had the pleasure of meeting these guys and enjoyed my time with them. Please give to this cause till it hurts these guys deserve your help.
  5. sorry new to forum i found the stages gonna be a cool match better be good with a rifle does not look like your typical 30 second run and gun stages
