  1. Well that's unfortunate.. apparently I can't fix my typo in the thread tittle.. Sorry Mr. Carver.

hello all, I'm about to grab one of Bobby's combo packages that includes his UL trigger kit. Although I have no doubt his trigger kit is great I was wondering if anyone has time on it. Comments? maybe relative differences between others?

    thanks,

    J.

  2. If you are considering a 12ga, look into some international skeet / Int. trap shells. they are slightly less than 7/8 oz at 24 grams and a have enough pressure to operate most autos (works in my 1100, and my A400 Xtreme). WAY lighter shooting than even a 1oz shell.

I have set up a Benelli M2 with a 24" bbl for an old GF. the recoil pad pops off and is replaced with a shorter one to get the LOP down to 13.5"

Having said that, a 20ga 1100 is a nice swinging soft shooting gun.

  3. FWIW, my 38 super matchmaster ran okay with magtech factory ammo. It left some nasty crap on the c-more glass and didn't have enough gas to runt he comp effectively though.

Will it shoot flat (as flat as with major ammo)? I'm just tring to figure out how comps work.

  4. Why is the 34 considered Glocks 'competition' gun? I see it has a longer bbl, so you get a longer sighting plane.. anything else? Someone above mentioned a different trigger?

There is a 34 topend in the classifieds. it has a cut slide and carver 10 port comp. Maybe he has some info on how it ran?

  5. glockabierto.jpg

    Is that a carver gun?

I see it has alot of his parts.

    Hows it shoot?

It has carver mount, carver 10 port compensator but that is it. KKM match barrel, CCF frame, tugsten guide rod, zev tech fulcron trigger assembly, skeletonize firing pin, ice magwell,,

It shoots very accurately. I had FTF issues, but once I got the lee undersized sizing full die, problem solved....

is the tungsten guide rod (compared to SS) used only to add weight?

  6. hahaha i have in the mail arriving tomorrow my SJC mount, Cmore, Racker, SJC Magwell and 3 port carver comp....I cant wait to put it together. I just need to figure out if im going to do it myself or pay someone to have it put in. I have a feeling its going to be put in by someone, lol

Make sure you post some pictures when you have it put together (or before too). I'm just about to get one myself.

  7. I have a Beretta 682 Gold E Sporting that I use for all clay shooting. I don't think I'm far off by saying 90% of Norwegian clay shooters use Beretta O/Us of some kind.

Started out with a 391, but since I shoot alot of sporting clays two barrels are better, so you can have two different chokes when shooting.

But the best of them (skeet team) shoot Perazzi.

But yes.. can't go wrong with a used 682. Just picked one up for $600! and you wont pry it out of my hands for double.

  8. if you hand cycle it's not suppose to toss a new shell in. If you fire the gun it should.

Try pressing the little button at the rear (towards the back of gun) of the carrier, a shell should get tossed out of the mag. then it will get put into the chamber when you manually cycle.

  9. agree with everyone.

1100 is cheap (beretta and perazzi's are not), actually points and swings nice (870 does not), is soft shooting (neither 870 nor O/U are).

There are lots that were built just for target shooting... still a good target gun after all these years. I would prefer to shoot that over my A400 xtreme for skeet (not that I do).

    just my opinion.

  10. ..., ya'll shooting international skeet?

    yes,

but some good advie. first target is the ONLY important target until it's broken. follow through extra, find target #2 with your eyes and then your gun will follow.

Do NOT worry about timing or break point of the second target while you are learning. bad habits will ensue.

  11. There are Many Many different 682's. I just bought an old skool one for $800 and it's one those bullet proof ones. You can't go wrong with one in your safe. Go-To is Perazzi but i'm a BIG fan of the old 682's. They run and run.

More reliable than the DT-10's (still own one of those too) but not a fine of a gun.

Lastly, the newer 682's seem to come with lighter and smaller wood in my experience. This leads to poor impressions, lighter feel, and more recoil. First thing I did with my cheapo was find some old old wood with some volume and bolted it on.

  12. Hello: If you can wait till after nationals ther will be lots of good open pistols for sale. You will save alot of money buying used and in most cases get a great pistol. That will also give you a chance to shoot some local guys open pistols to see what you may like. The Tru Bor can be made to rock if you lighten the slide and use 115 grain bullets with HS-6 powder for 9mm  Thanks, Eric

will there be an influx of used open guns for sale here? or would someone have to go to nations and hang out? sorry for the stupid question.. I'm just shopping.

  13. I'm running a Camerons Custom 6" for Limited

Sounds like you are leaning towards a custom open gun.

    I bought two TruBor's - $2,700 each - put on a slide racker

and some rough tape on the grip - took a while to learn how

to shoot the upright C-More, but all it took was practice.

Bought 1 TruBor from Brazos - highly recommend their TruBor.

You get the gun in two weeks and can practice with it for

the next 3-9 months you'd be waiting for your custom gun

    to come in.

No disadvantage to the TruBor, but it's fast and inexpensive.

Good luck = doubt you can go wrong either way if you have the

    money.

excuse my ignorance... but do you have 3 trubors? 2 assembled from STI and one assembled at Brazos? what I'm reading (maybe in error) is that you find the one built by brazos runs better than an off the shelf trubor?

  14. have you called the customer service folks and made your case. no way you should pay that much for something not working for you and not resolve the issue, give glockworx the chance to help you out and if no results just return it. If they crap on you then share that story here, but otherwise I suspect they will be very accomodating.

    Good luck!

If not, that's good advice. they might be a great help to you. At any rate, thank a lot for the information. I'm taking notes on all these aftermarket parts.
