  1. I don't have many options in Canada for Glock, so spent a pile all at once from Bobby and SJC. I don't even want to see my VISA.

I have a small child for sale.

  2. On your reload problem, I make sure to hit the back of the lifter with my knuckle so I don't get hooked by the lifter. A bit of practice and I haven't been bitten since. My Benelli doesn't have the welded lifter, and it was built by Benny Hill who is big in the 3-gun game. I've shot 22, 23, and 24 on the trap field (16 yd line) with my 21" barrel and love the gun.

I just ordered a 21" M2 for 3-gun, Can you tell me what a "welded lifter" is. EDIT: I just looked it up. Good idea.

  3. so what are you guys who run open glocks doing (if anything) to your mags when shoving them in those big magwells? large baseplates so they are easy to fire in?

is so, what do you recommend?

  4. I don't know much about open guns (other than that the STI's are in the $4-$5K range and the Glocks are in the $1K-$2K range.) I've had multiple open shooters say something to the effect of "don't waste your time with an open Glock" but didn't pick up on any specifics as to why they believe open Glocks can't run with STI's. So I asked for specifics today...here's what I heard from the guys that think open Glocks are not of the same capability as the STI's:

    - Glock will never cycle as fast as an STI...when that was said, a certified Glock armorer jumped in and said he completely disagreed - he said he could get a Glock to cycle every bit as fast as an STI...then another guy chimed in and said you could make a Glock cycle so fast it would turn into an automatic and you'd have to take it apart to get it to stop (not sure what that really meant)

    - Glocks are too light and the recoil from shooting something like 9 major won't be as manageable as a heavier gun running major

    - Glock triggers will never be as 'nice' as an STI trigger

Seems to me that 'nice' on a trigger is subjective, and if a Glock armorer says he can get a Glock to cycle as fast as an STI, that just leaves the weight issue. (But like I said, I'm just starting to learn about open guns...I'm trying to figure out whether to build an open Glock out of my 34 or save for a while and buy an STI.)

I'm completely learning too... In my reading I realised as well that Glocks weren't as heavy (to start out with) and that may make them a little twitchy. I also started discovering things like Brass Magwells, and Tungsten extended length guiderods. I wonder how close one would be to a 2011 open gun in terms of weight and/or ballance at that point?

For me, trigger was the only hold out. For $1600 vs. $3300 (cheapest for me up here in Canada) I will put a 2# completely adjustable glock trigger kit in and see how it works.

  5. When I opened my eyes, I found that with most guns I am looking at the back of the receiver. ..........Is it possible that I push my face into the stock too hard? Is there anything else that I could be doing that would give me a false reading?

    Mark

You have just discovered that most shotguns in NA are too low. They promote shooting with your head off the stock. You cannot push your face into the stock too hard.. stay the course!

The first think I do to and beretta or benelli auto is put the highest shim in and it is barely enough. My o/u's have fitted stocks so that's not an issue.

  6. I've shot it. I liked it alot and the KO is nice as I've become used to 24gr shells. Even the 1 1/8 loads punish me these days.

If you have a 391 that fits I would not suggested upgrading but I would not steer anyone away from the A400
