  1. For those of you that travel. I am looking for a hard case that can put all 3 of my guns in to travel with. I would prefer a pelican I have grown to love everything about them except the price. I have a 1750 that I was going to resource for this ( it used to hold a 26" bolt gun that doesn't travel anymore) but I would have to buy another foam set and my shotgun ha to at least have the extension removed and I would prefer to leave it together. So I guess what I'm asking or is pictures of your set ups so I can get some better ideas.
  2. Some other things you need to keep in mind, or so I've found out. Add a nordic low drag follower to your list. The stock is a crappy plastic one and since your already making a order with nordic it's worth it. I just got done welding the bolt release button to the shell stop bar. I tightened the bolt release button screw pretty tight and the factory button started spinning instead of the screw coming out. I tried to stake it so it wouldn't spin but that didn't help for long. So I just welded the button from the backside. I would drill and tap it the send it off if you don't have a welder. Just takes a tac weld and some sanding and polishing and its good to go. If you want to load fast there are a coupe things that I ave found are needed. The load port will need to be opened up. The shell stop will need to be bent and cut a little bit. but this is all trial and error to get it how you like it. Just takes some pliers or a vice and a hacksaw to open the flex cuts to allow it to bend out of the way easier when loaded.
  3. Just to be clear it only applies to the synthetic not the sportsman or the tactical models
  4. I have a 26" synthetic that I just put a nordic button on. If you have a drill press it is very easy to drill it. If you remove the shell stop. The back side of the button is dimpled in the center and centers the drill bit perfectly. The reason I went with the nordic is impost of the rectangular buttons require the factory button to have flats milled in it so the rectangular button can not rotate. This is not an issue with the round nordic unit. As a Side noethe reason I did not buy the sportsman is.the synthetic gives a nice grippy stock set that is fully adjustable and better sights. I paid less than 1100 including transfer and remington has a 100 dollar rebate right now
  5. Removing the inner spring are either spring for that matter makes it harder to get a shell past the shell stop. It does make it easier to push the Bolt release. I polishe my shell stop and used sone 400 grit to break the edge that contacts the shell. This made it much smoother. Try this remove the mag spring and load a couple shells. The only thing stoping them from falling in is the shell stop. This will tell you just how hard it is.
  6. I would ask to speak to a supervisor and ask why they are not honoring their advertised warranty on a $1200 shotgun. http://www.remington.com/pages/support/versa-max-warranty.aspx Specifically says 7 day turnaround.
  7. Has anyone counted the gas ports in a tactical camber. If its only a 3" chamber it shouldn't have as many gas ports as the 3 1/2.
  8. Are you going to a ups store(strip mall). Or an actual hub? The stores are a diffrent company that ave diffrent rows. Luckily I I've 5-10 minutes from a large hub ad the ladies there in the evening at every knowledgable and helpful. They don't ship out till after 7 so I wait until a half hour before they close so my gun firearms don't send too much time sitting on a shelf. I learned the first time I shipped a firearm( my 600 yard FTR rifle that is rather large) they asked me to show it was unloaded and clear so I had to unpack the whole thing to show them. All my guns that get shipped have their own pelican cases. The ammo also goes into a pelican. nd I hold onto boxes so I can wrap the pelicans in cardboard so they don't stick out too much.
  9. Well here's what I've found. I pulled the mag spring and it loads much easier. As someone said its just oversprung. I'm just going to wait until carbon arms releases they're new tube ( hopefully sooner than later Mark). And see how that goes. I'm hoping to get 11+1 and 8+1 with a factory end cap on the tube. As someone has said removing the inner spring will increase the force it takes for a shell to get past the shell stop but will decrease the force required to release the bolt. Now the parts list continues to grow. Carbon arms tube Nordic benelli m2 bolt handle Someone's extended bolt release still looking. Nordic low drag follower. Then crums to hack up the receiver weld the lifter and possibly a trigger job
  10. Thanks for the info. I'll Try pulling the small spring out and see how much that improves it.
  11. I'm new to the shotgun world so forgive me if I'm overlooking something here. I've got a brand new 26" synthetic versamax that I've put about 75 rnds of birdshot through yesterday. I am currently waiting for carbon arms to start selling their one piece tube. So for the moment it is just 3+1. All the videos I see people are loading the mag tubes with what seems to be very little effort. Now when I load this shotgun it is difficult to get the round pushed past the shell stop. I'm not sure if the shell stop spring is too stiff or the mag spring is too stiff or if I'm just s little bitch. I plan on getting a nordic bolt release, charging handle and low drag follower if I can find somewhere that has them all. Then once I put a few cases through it sending it up to crums if I fell the lifter mod and loading port need to be modded but it just feels difficult to load. Any advice would be appreciated.
  12. Seen it happen once before. Same complaint. This was on another forum though not in person. Remington should take care of it no questions asked.
  13. Did the same thing with a 45 acp. At least the rod kits are cheap. Midway had them a couple months ago
  14. You won't be able to run it on 1 tool head. You would still have to decap and prime in station 1 and the trimmer shouldn't be used after the powder drop. Besides you will want to remove lube from the cases. I run mine on a 550 station 1 is a sizing die that bups the shoulder back most of the way. Station 3 is the trimmer that's set to push the shoulder all the way back. This gives me more consistent headspace. Then it gets tumbled to remove lube. Then ran through a tool head with a decamping die in station 1 to make sure the flash holes are clear. Station 2 is powder station 3 seating
