  1. cutting coils on a given spring will make it lighter in a given application. You will have less spring to compress at the full travel.
  2. I went down to 10" over and I can get them all in. It really felt like it was hitting something solid.
  3. I tried a couple combo's and lost the round both ways. I have the new gray follower and Nordic springs. The new follower with either spring makes me sacrifice the round by leaving it about 5/8" from going in. I cut the Nordic spring to the same length as the factory spring to start with. Unless I miss-counted coils and messed up the wire diameter measurement, the Nordic spring as I cut it should have a solid height less than the factory spring. But, with the Nordic spring the same amount of the 8th round is hanging out. Are both springs bindng the same way inside the follower? I am perplexed. Is cutting the spring to just 10" over the tube going to make the difference in the way it coils? thanks
  4. Curious if one can swap the factory stock on the FN SLP with the one on the SX3? The SX3 looks to have a tighter pistol grip and should be 1/4" shorter with all of the spacers out.
  5. Thanks. I spoke to someone else at the factory this morning and got the same scoop.
  6. Perfect timing for my question...... I take it that the newer style Nordic follower has the same inside diameter as the older one with the angled grooves across the ribs? I tried it today and realized that the spring would not fit inside it cleanly. Does the older one work and fit exactly the same in the FN? Sounds like I need a spring at least to change out the crapper plastic follower.
  7. They sent me a couple new connectors to try.... I dropped one into the 34 and trigger pull was lighter than the stock 3.5 by approx .5 lbs. It does feel even more like a very light revolver trigger. I put about 100 rds through it this past weekend and will keep working with it.
  8. You should be able to find a happy place with Bullseye and the 9. And the good news is you will get a whole lot of shots per pound.
  9. My G34 has had several different 3.5 connectors in it and a 5.5 for a while, all performed as expected. This connector raised my pull weight. I returned it weeks ago and have not gotten a credit as requested. I got through once by phone, but my follow up phone calls and emails go unanswered. Is that typical?
  10. Although they do not make mainsprings, Sprinco in Austin guages their CS recoil springs for weight.
  11. I believe the Jewell has a slower lock time than stock, which is really slow already.
  12. Who is SRM? What benefits are there to the surecycle system?
  13. I have seen plenty of RTF G22's in the mid-atlantic, but no 17's yet.
  14. Just looked at the Hornady manual, my mistake, no loads, as you probably know for Bullseye. The Alliant Tech powder website has loads listed for the 124 Gold Dot and Bullseye.
  15. Unless it is a VERY recent LEO Colt, like the 6920/6940, it will be large pin. The 6920's just started shipping with small pins. I would find a way to measure them first. The Geissele will not fit with a sear block (but I believe it will with the web version). He can just open the receivers to see whether it is a web or a block.
  16. I believe Colt still builds the best. I have had a number of the top tier. I just got a 6940 and it instantly became my favorite. They just know how to do all of the steps right. Looking the gun over is like a text book on AR's compared to some of the guns I have seen over the years. And, in this current boom market for guns, how many companies know how to build guns at a high rate better than Colt?
  17. I would use the Hornady manual, which I believe lists loads for Bullseye and 231. I found that I needed to load at 1.09" instead of the 1.06 the manual had (if I recall correctly) to get proper feeding of the last round in my G34. You will need to adjust your powder charge if you are loading at a different length than the manual has, so hopefully, you have a chrono. I used to use Unique all of the time in 9mm with the 124 XTP. But I recently switched to Power Pistol, and I can't see ever going back. Cleaner and accuracy at least as good or better than the Unique.
  18. that sounds good. I want a T1 on a handgun
  19. How is the accuracy on these R8's?
  20. I tried one of the regular Ghost connectors and there was very little difference in my gun compared to the stock 3.5#. I just went back to the factory one.
  21. As soon as I sell my Benelli M2, I am going to get one of these.
  22. Has the FN been totally reliable? Did you tweak anything internal? I am really interested in getting one of these.
