  1. I took my Aimpoint out of retirement last month and installed Energizer 357/303 silver oxide batteries in it. It required 3. The Energizer package says 357/303 replaces 76 and 44 size batteries. I seem to recall running a single large (tall) battery in it years ago, but I couldn't remember the size. I don't know what I'll use if the Aimpoint ever goes out. Doug
  2. I can still hear Michael Plaxco back in 1989 saying over my shoulder "Front sight, prep the trigger, front sight, prep the trigger, front sight, prep the trigger." This instruction has been the most helpful thing that I was ever taught about shooting. Doug
  3. I have a couple of pounds of VIHTAVUORI N110 left over from my 9X25 days. Does anyone have a load for this powder in .38 supercomp? I'm not trying to make major, I doubt that can be done safely. I'm just looking for a tried and true load to use this up at the local steel matches. It should make a lot of gas, I'm thinking. I have a large supply of 115 grain bullets, but I could always get some 125's if I need to. Anyone have a load they want to share? Thanks, Doug
  4. I have a STI .38 supercomp pistol, built in 1997. It has a 4 hole Schuemman Hybricomp barrel with a 3 port compensator. I'm looking for a recommendation for a 115gr. steel load and a 115gr. load for IPSC/USPSA major. I've been reading all of the posts about different comps, powders, and the powder burn rates that it takes to make different style barrel/comps work, and I just seem to get more confused. I've been out of the game for about 12 years, so I feel like I'm starting from scratch. So please feel free to be specific and tell me what I need to make this pistol run flat and fast. It feels good to be shooting again! Thanks, Doug
  5. I'm 54 and need +2.00 readers now. On my last trip to the eye doc, I was informed that I need a +1.00 distance script too. So I went to Zenni Optical and ordered glasses with +1.00 in the left eye and +2.00 in the right for front sight focus. I put the glasses on when I arrive at the range and my brain adapts to the different magnifications and I don't even notice. This has really helped my shooting. Zenni order form is pretty straight forward, just fill in the blanks. You do need to know your pupil distance(PD)in MM's.
