  1. For some reason all of a sudden, the cases are not being pushed over far enough when they fall down the case feed tube into the adapter. Any ideas how to remedy: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=DB47DC163CE98F54&id=DB47DC163CE98F54!3502&parId=DB47DC163CE98F54!3356&o=OneUp
  2. You mean one of those oil cans with a long stem that you squeeze?
  3. For those of you that lubricate the shaft of your Dillon press with 30w motor oil, how do you apply it, with a rag, squirt bottle, etc.? I find that it is difficult to apply oil without getting on other places or it dripping since the shaft is perpendicular to the table..
  4. I've had that problem, then the powder sticks to the side of the cases.
  5. I'm more concerned with proper disposal than I am reusing them. I'd hate to have them discharge somewhere else besides in my gun.
  6. Are you saying you use this by itself or mix it with lanolin, etc.
  7. Is it safe to de-prime a round with the primer in backwards. I have a handful of them.
  8. Are you saying you use this by itself to lube cases or do you mix it with lanolin or (something else)? Ignore this I meant it for another poster. Can't figure out how to delete a post
  9. If you don't use lanolin and you don't use One Shot, then what do you use?
  10. I am following the same process many posters have described: putting the cases in a ziploc bag, spraying them, etc. I think I must be using to much lube. It is the Hornaday aerosol not the pump
  11. Yes, your correct, it is lube. Wrong choice of words on my part
  12. Yes, I have Dillon dies except for the seating die, which is Redding
  13. What press do you have? I have a Dillon 550b and I just got a 650 a couple of months ago. I never had to lube the cases when I loaded 45acp on the 550, now that I load them on the 650 I have to lube them to keep from getting rounds without the primers seated all the way.
  14. What is the best way and/or best product for lubing cases. I use Hornaday One Shot. I spray it in a 1 gallon zip lock bag and then dump the cases in there and shake them. However, lately, some of the cases still have moisture in them when I go to load and the powder sticks to the case wall. I would rather not set them out on the bench one by one to dry as that will take a while if I have 2 cases to load. The time spent doing that kinda defeats the purpose of have a 650 (speed). I'm willing to consider another product, if necessary
  15. Someone once told me that if you can't reach it to put the allen wrench in, to flip the lock ring over and tighten it down again.
  16. I need some new lock rings for my Dillon Dies on my 650. I've had several people suggest Hornaday lock rings: I've had others suggest Forster or Lyman ones. Any thoughts about these?
  17. Yes, I like the strong mount. I used the 550b for about 4 years mounted directly to the table. Then I bought a 650 about 2 months ago along with a strong mount for it. I liked the strong mount so well, I got one for the 550 last week. I had the roller handle on the 550 but I took it off to use on the 650 and put the ball handle back on the 550. If I end up using the 550 very much, I will probably get another roller handle but I am using the 650 most of the time, so it gets the roller handle for now.
  18. I called DIllon and gave them my sob story, thinking they might waive the shipping charge since I just bought the strong mount and bullet tray from them 6 days ago........nada. IMO they should offer the strong mount, bullet tray and case tray as an optional package package. I don't know why anyone would want the strong mount and not the trays. It's almost a 9" reach with every case without the tray.
  19. OK, I see it now. Wish I had thought of that earlier. I just ordered a strong mount and bullet tray about a week ago and just got it the day before yesterday. Guess, I'll have to place another order.
  20. Is this what you mean. Sorry about the duplicates, I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the extra ones
  21. I've had a 550b for about 5 years but I had it mounted directly to my bench, no strong mount. I just got a 650 about 8 weeks ago and attached it to a strong mount. I like the strong moutn so well, I just got one for my 550b and just got it set up. My question is: Is there anything I can get that will bring the empty cases up closer to the shell plate. I've seen pictures showing an empty case bin up even with the loaded cartridge bin, but I'm not sure these were DIllon items, maybe Inline Fabrication. Thats quite a reach from the bench to the shell plate/platform now that I have the press on a strong mount. Getting a case feeder for my 550b is not an option as most of my loading will be done on my 650.
  22. I am pretty new to the 650, I have only had mine about 8 weeks. I've a 550b for about 5 years. Anyway, the problem I am having on the 650 is that I often have 1 or 2 rounds at the end of my loading session that don't have a primer. I can feel when I am out of primers and there is no primer going into the case and I usually stop then but somehow I still end up with a couple unprimed rounds at the end. I have to throw them in the re-work bin to be broken down later. How can I tell when to stop, so I don't end up with these.
  23. For some of mine that differ by .010, the cases are only differ by .005, so I figure the difference is how deep the primer is seated in one vs. the other or the length of the bullets differ
  24. Yeah, I know. My degree is in mathematics, so it bugs me when things aren't exact. Glad to here I'm not doing something wrong.
