  1. I never was able to get the clip off like he shows at :40 of the video. I'd hate to even think about trying to get it back on
  2. I have an RCBS lock out die on my XL650. It worked well for a while but now it seems it will not lock up the press anymore on a double charge or no charge. I believe I have set it up properly. I placed the powder in the case and twisted the spindle until the white ring on the spindle is flush even with the top of the die when the die sits on a charged case. When I screw the die into the tool head, whenever the case is correctly charged, the ring on the die is even with the top of the die, so it sounds like it is set up correctly. Any idea what I can do to get it to work correctly again. Please don't suggest the Dillon powder checker, I already had one and sold it to buy the RCBS one, which I like better (when it is working).
  3. While other M&P models are 2.0, the CORE is still a 1.0
  4. Does anyone know if the trigger bar is the same for all M&P 9mm's. I have a M&P CORE 9mm w/5"barrel and I need to get a new trigger bar for it. I saw M&P trigger bars on Brownell's but they weren't specific to caliber or gun model. Do you know here I can get one, aside from S&W.
  5. My powder die (station 2) appears to be gunked up. I noticed some of my cases are a little sticky. I've concluded that I have been useing to much case lube on them.
  6. I have an RCBS lockout die I am trying to adjust. I set the die so that the white ring on the post is even with the top of the powder charged case. However, when I screw the die into my Dillon XL650. it doesn't lock the press on double charges or no charge. I figure it must have something to do with the way/how far I am screwing it into the toolhead. Any ideas or suggestions
  7. I ended up cleaning them with 99% isopropyl alcohol. It did a pretty good job
  8. What do you suggest for cleaning the inside of my DIllon dies. Some of them are pretty gunked up. I watched a video that recommended Hornaday One Shot over Breakfree CLP or Ballistol becaue One Shot evaporates and the others do not. What say you?
  9. I was going to order the Apex Competition Action Enhancement Kit (AEK) for my newly purchased M&P CORE 9mm w/5" barrel. Apex also offers the Forward Sear and Trigger Kit. Does anyone know which would improve the M&P trigger the most. They are mutually exclusive, according to Apex
  10. I'm not sure this is necessarily Dillon related but since I have DIllon equipment, I'll put it here. I am about out of One Shot case lube. I've seen posts about how to make home made case lube, so I think I'll try it. One of the ingredients is lanolin and the other is 99% isopropyl alcohol (some people use Heet). Is there a specific type of lanolin to use. Can someone suggest where to get the correct type of lanolin?
  11. That did the trick, I'm back in business...........thanks for the assistance
  12. I have a bunch of primers loose inside the magazine shield of my XL650. Don't ask me how I did it because I'm not sure. Any idea how I can get them out? I've already removed the magazine and the primers are still inside the shield. I thought I read somewhere that your not supposed to remove the magazine shield.
  13. Sometimes on my 550b when I push the operating handle to seat the primer, the case in station 1 tips over half way through the stroke. ANy ideas what causes this or how to remedy:
  14. I am going to try shooting those rounds in another gun. If they don't go off, I will assume it's the primers. If they do go off in another gun, then I will assume it's the mainspring in my original gun.
  15. They are CCI primer. The thought just occurred to me that I just recently cleaned that gun. I've never had trouble with CCI primers before. I wonder if something happened when I cleaned it (grease, oil, etc.)
  16. For several magazine loads, I checked the rounds before putting them in the mag and all appear OK, only to have several rounds not fire and returned with dented primers
  17. They have the little indentation like the have after they are spent but I haven't tried shooting them again. I'll try shooting them in one of my other guns and see if they fire.
  18. I don't think it's high primers, or hard primers, I don't have any issues shooting rounds from the same batch out of a different gun.
  19. I have some 9mm rounds that I loaded with 4.1 grains of AA#2. Out of about 100 rounds maybe 10 or 12 didn't fire at all out of my Springfield Loaded 9mm 1911. No squib or anything, just a spent primer on a fully loaded bullet. It occurred to me that maybe I got some bad primers but I switched guns (Kahr PM 9) and didn't have a one fail to fire issue out of the same batch of ammo. I'm pretty sure all of my rounds have enough powder in them (4.1 gr AA#2) as I watched them pretty close (on my 550b) as I was loading them. It seems like 4.1gr should be enough, could there possibly be something wrong with the gun or do I just need more powder. Seems like if 4.1 is enough for a PM9 it should be enough for my 1911. Next step will be try 4.3 gr and see if I still have the problem.
  20. It turned out that the slide cam was wobbly, so I tightened it down.............problem solved. Thanks to everyone
  21. I ended up sucking the primers up with my shop vac, holding the nozzle over the top of the tube. Problem solved
  22. I have some primers accumulated in the bottom of the magazine shield, What is the best way to get them out. I assume the hex screws (red arrows in picture) can be removed to take it off and get the primers out, right. Any better ideas?
  23. I really like AA#2 but it seems like it's easier to waste powder because it's so fine
  24. After I pull the operating handle, I end up having to push where the yellow arrow is to get the case to drop into the adapter
  25. It's there now. Cases still won't drop It looks to me like it's not being pushed to the left far enough for the cases to drop into, see link to video: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=DB47DC163CE98F54&id=DB47DC163CE98F54!3502&parId=DB47DC163CE98F54!3356&o=OneUp
