    P220 Conversion

Does Gray's really do SAO conversions and magwells for the P220 SS
  2. I was told the ProMags were not very well made. Have you any experience with them?
  3. Does Sig make, or are quality 10 round mags available for the Sig P220? Thanks

    P226 recoil spring

I am using the wolf 13lb as well. My PF is about 132,500 with my 124 gr. and is a soft shooter. My 147 gr. at 132,500 PF does not go to slide lock to0 well. Thanks for the info!

    P226 recoil spring

You guys using the pink spring, what loads are you using? Does it go to slidelock? What PF? I have Titegroup and Solo 1000 with 124 gr. Montana Gold to experiment with. Thanks

    P226 recoil spring

I spoke to Bruce yesterday and he told me the pink spring is heavier than the orange. He is sending me his fat guiderod that can be used with conventional springs. He recommended a 14 lb. or maybe even a 13 lb. single strand spring. He is a very nice guy and I have added him to my list of gunsmiths with class. (Tripp, Angus, and Gray)

    P226 recoil spring

I ordered a new recoil spring today from Grays. They sell a pink color coded competition spring.

    P226 recoil spring

The trigger has been worked over by Bruce Gray an I think it has the 17lb main spring in it already. I believe it has the stock recoil spring in it and it seems a little too stout. I had two failure to eject properly today and I am certain it needs to be reduced. I used an 11 lb recoil spring in my Beretta with the same load.

    P226 recoil spring

How many lb. recoil spring are you guys using at around 130,000 PF? Where do you get them from? Thanks!
  10. Why is lead a problem?
  11. I am about to oders some bullets and do not know if I should order 124's or 147's. I have a local guy that sells lead projectiles. Any thoughts?
  12. Thanks, I thought I would ask one of you SIG guys before I got one.
  13. I have a P220 Elite Carry and was considering purchasing an X-Change Kit in the same 45 cal. to go from a 3.9 inch to a 4.4 inch barrel. I have the 22 conversion unit with the 4.4 inch barrel and have used it without any problems. Has anyone had any experience with the X-Change Kits?

Thanks for the sight info. I will check the height on mine.

    P226 USPSA

I did not know it had a stainless frame. I was pleased to see that. Once again thanks for letting me know!

Thanks, I sent him a PM. I live about an hour and a half from FW so if it is still available ...

    Trigger Pull

Thanks again! That may be the best option. (Sending parts to josh)
  19. I have shot both but prefer the 147's. At 125,500 PF the 147' have less muzzle flip than the 124's. Accuracy variation between the two has not been noticable.
  20. I think STI offers a great value. I have had a Trojan and a Spartan. I prefer the Trojan as it fit my hand a little better.
  21. I had the Ice no-gap and the Tripp systems mags. Hard to beat!
  22. Very nice, I hope it feeds as good as it looks!
  23. You can always call Virgil Tripp. Super nice guy and a great pistolsmith. I have had him work on two of my guns and bought several mags from him. There is no gunsmith I would prefer over him on single stack 1911's in 40 cal or 9mm guns.

I have the P220 Elite Carry. It is super nice and it feels like a quality firearm. However, I wish I would have gotten a stainless P226 9mm.

    P226 USPSA

Oh yeah, I caught the Signess! Besides my USPSA models, here are my three X-5's (top is L1 .40s&w, middle is Competition model .40s&w, and bottom is All Around 9mm). I use the L1 in USPSA Limited Division, and the All Around in Production. I have Sherman extended basepads for use in Limited Div. that allow 17+1. Those a re very nice! How do you like the 5" compare to the 4.4" for USPSA competition?
