  1. Would you happen to know the model # you ordered? My invoice shows (M930 BBLASM 24DR PRTD SS-FULL Matte) $180.00 two extra chokes were $15.75 Each Has front and rear fiber optic sights Is it ported or non-ported? Give the "PRTD" in the invoice line item, I'm betting it is ported. I bet you think the same. But naturally, we should hear back from the actual barrel owner to be sure. Yes...that is what I am thinking...sent another e-mail to Nora to try and clarify price and chokes. Still no response. About to give up on her and call Veronica back. Ordered my 930 yesterday should be here tomorrow. Paid 485 with our high sales tax, then went home and saw that Bud's had dropped their price to 443 w/ free shipping. Could have gotten it for 463 with my FFL transfer fee. Wish I hadn't looked now...lol....Oh well, the guy I bought it from did cut me a deal on my FFL fees. He's now doing them for 15 instead of 25. so maybe I will be able to make up the difference.

  3. My next build is going to be a DPMS/JP hybrid....Gonna prob catch flak for this but I am a little OCD. I'm alright with a hybrid AR as most stock ARs are hybrid anyway. But, when my OCD kicks in, I don't want more than two or three different manufacturers components. After doing alot of research (and I mean alot), I've kinda got everything in my head that I want in and on the gun. There are what I consider critical components such as the barrel, trigger, bolt and carrier, buffer and spring, and gas system. All of these components will be JP. Still on the fence about using the adjustable JP gas system or a standard rifle length DPMS gas system. OCD again, adjustable means I will always be messing with it...lol... also haven't completely decided between low mass or full mass bolt carrier. The barrel will be 20". I know 18 is more popular now, but I like the longer sight radius. Now for the not as critical components. The upper and lower receivers will be DPMS (can't really see paying the difference for the JP receivers). It will have a DPMS vented free float tube (again can't see triple the price for the JP/VTAC tube). All the small parts will be DPMS including the the removeable BUIS. And of course the ACE skeletonized buttstock and Hogue grip. Almost forgot Miculek steel charging handle and compensator from DPMS. With the best prices I can find on all the components, I can build this setup for around 1500 give or take 150 depending on how I go with the gas system. Opinions please and good shooting. Oh, for those wondering about my avatar, I am am a S&W guy and do currently shoot a M&P 15. Thought about adding all my wants to this rifle. But, OCD again can't stand spare parts just laying around. More cost effective to just build a new rifle....
  4. When I received my 24" NON-ported barrel a few months ago it came with an XX-full turkey choke only! (went straight to the junk box) I was so happy to get the barrel I didn't care and bought a nice Briley extended modified choke for it. Oh, edit: BTW I paid the $170 plus shipping so I did get kinda ripped off... I sent Nora a e-mail asking about chokes. I also told her about the price of 150 that I got from Veronica and asked what price was correct 150 or 125. I also asked about Veronica telling me there would be a 2 month wait to get the barrel. Sent it yesterday and haven't heard back yet. Someone with connections needs to hook up w/ Larry Potterfield at Midway USA and tell him it's time to start selling "Just about everything for Multi-Gun"....lol. Larry could do an exclusive deal w/ Mossberg to sell the non-ported barrels. He would make a kiiling and we would have a single source with hopefully a little oversite.
  5. WOW. Is that for them to order it from their distributors and add their mark-up or is that their FFL transfer fee for you to order it online and have them do a transfer? The FFLs in my area are starting to get a little greedy w/ their transfer fees. I used to pay 10.00 per transfer then went to 15 and now up to 25 in less than two years. I will usually try to buy local. But, I am usually pretty specific about what gun I want and will purchase online if my local guys can't get what I'm after. I don't mind paying my locals a little more than online price if they can get the gun in a timely manner. But, when they start talking 2 or three months to get one and I can get it online right now and at a better price, then I'm sorry. Some of them can get a real attitude when you even ask them about doing tranfers.
  6. neither comes w/ a non-ported barrel....you have to special order the non-ported barrel from Mossberg directly. So you can't use in in TO unless you buy separate barrel or have it cut? I haven't actualy started competetion. But, I have read the USPSA rules several times. And, to the best of my understanding the ported barrels put you in open class. I am opting for the 28" waterfowler and purchasing a seperate 24" barrel from Mossberg w/out ports. That way I can always swap back to the 28 and shoot clays, dove, or ducks.

  8. Didn't think about the chokes. I'm gonna call monday and speak to Nora. She seemed to know a little more about the non-ported barrels just from reading her e-mail (she did have a model number at least). I'll make sure and ask about the chokes. No one has chimed in w/ a better deal than the 485 I can get on the 930 waterfowler. So, I will probably also purchase it Monday as well. Can't wait to take it apart...lol
  9. As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, I had also sent 3 emails (over 3 weeks) to Mossberg w/ no reply on purchasing a 24" non-ported barrel. I did this before I read about Edna and saw her contact info. This morning, I received the following e-mail from Nora at Mossberg: Thank you for your e-mail. Yes, you can order the non ported barrel it is part number 16973MT and the cost is $125.00 plus $10.95 shipping and handling. Go ahead and contact us at let us know that you want the barrel non-ported. Nora Regalado Product Service Rep O. F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc Maverick Arms, Inc Authorized Service Center 1001 Industrial Blvd Eagle Pass, TX 78852 1-800-363-3555 LOL....now, do I contact Nora and tell her that Veronica said the barrel would be 150.00 + 10.95 or just play dumb and try and get the barrel from Nora for 125.00 + 10.95.....Starting to sound like an Archie comic. Will let ya'll now how it turns out. P.S. Nice looking gun Jid2
  10. Hello all....I'm new to the forum and to 3 gun....I have read this entire thread and have just about decided to purchase the 930 waterfowler and get the 24 non-ported barrel from Mossberg. I did jump the gun (ha, ha, pun intended) and call Mossberg and asked for Edna to check current prices and availability on these barrels before I read far enough to see the Edna was no longer w/ Mossberg. I spoke to Veronica. She told me Edna was no longer w/ Mossberg and I could tell that Veronica had no idea what I was asking about. However, she was very friendly and helpful. She put me on hold (which I think means she put the phone on the table) because I could hear her speaking to a gentelman in the background. I could only hear part of the conversation and could hear Veronica asking about the Non-ported barrels. She returned and stated that I could get a 24" non-ported barrel in matte finish w/ adjustable FO sights. She said the price was $150.00 + $10.95 to ship. She also said that it would be a custom order and would take approx 2 months to ship. This is not a problem for me because I am just getting started and don't really have any matches planned until January. I noticed this thread has been going a little over a year now and was wondering how everyone's 930s are holding up and how well they are performing. I would like to hear from those of you that have the full setup from Triangle as well as those of you that have done minimal customizing. This will help me make my final decision on the 930 or saving up more for a M2. By the way the best price I have found on the 930 waterfowler is $485 out the door. If anyone knows where I can beat that, Please let me know. Thanks and hope to see some of you on the range in the near future.
