Why did you pick the VR80 over the Typhoon?  What didn't you like about it?

The Typhoon rattled like it was thrown together, there were 4 at Collector Firearms all were loose, hand guard loose. They were priced over $1,000, and i got my VR80 for $649, plus I can get parts fpr the VR80. The Hayes brothers only a few miles from me have the VR80 really figured out.

One of the problems is the plate I had to purchase for the SRO hole pattern.  It's the one from Cajun for around $95 plus shipping.  If I go with something else, I get to buy another plate.  I have been shooting limited the past few matches.  My limited gun is a SVI sight tracker, so its not like I have nothing else that's decent to shoot.

If you want to shoot, pick up a Swampfox Justice. It uses the same plate as the Trijicon RMR/SRO and has a clear wide lens. Last weekend they did have them in stock.

Out of the box you'll notice the 1301 is much more set up for a tactical or competition use with oversized controls all around vs the more old school hunting ascetic of the benelli's.

The beretta also shoots much softer than the benelli as it's gas operated. I've also found the 1301 is very uncaring about what ammo you feed it (with the exclusion on Winchester Super X) it will run almost any 12g loading, the Benelli and it's inertia system can be much more ammo sensitive and finicky.

Pretty much this, the 1301 will run just about every ammo especially when broken in. I have one of the first ones with ten of thousands of rounds through, never misses a beat. and i barely clean it other than some CLP on the bolt.

Is there enough meat in a 9mm X5 barrel to bore it out to .40?

I have no idea if it is feasible even if technically possible, just curious...

You would also have to move the extractor and possibly the ejector in the slide.

I ordered one back in December but got tired of waiting.  Saw in another thread that  GoShoot.com has them in stock so I just ordered from there and canceled the order from AMG.

I ordered one on a Sunday from , GoShoot.com, shipped Monday, should have been here Thursday but USPS screwed up and it came Friday.

Just got notice yesterday that RIA has new addition to the V80 line called the VR82....a new scaled down shotgun in 20 ga...new for this year.  Looking at the 20 ga means just going from the 1 1/8 oz to 1 oz. for youth and those of slight build and us older gentlemen....the weight empty is at 7.5 lbs.   They are advertising 5, 10 and 19 round magazines.  Right now there is no stock in at any of the dealers listed.

I wish they could keep up on the VR80's. Some came into Grab A Gun yesterday, all sold in under an hour.

  7. Got the Holosun mounted this morning on an extra X-5 slide. Did some drive fire drills, mostly strong hand only. Real easy to see the chevron on a draw. At the distance you hold a pistol from your eye the chevron really shows up well. Might run up to the range tomorrow see how it sights in and how fast it shoots.

I noticed that @echotango is using a Tungsten Guide Rod, is this a popular option for the x5 legion?
I would assume that it's more a personal feel. I am getting one for my TP9SFX, was wondering if I should get one for the X5 Legion as well.

I have a tungsten guide rod in one of my slides. It normally resides on a tungsten infused grip ‘lower’ it is very stable shooting gun. I also have another slide with a Gray Guns stainless guide rod.

I have both the APP and a swage it and neither are working all that great.

I am in the process of setting up a new toolhead for the 750 to process rifle brass with using a RT1500.  I wanted to use the Swageit and avoid using the APP all together.  I have tried both and using either of them is still leaving very tight primer pockets that are difficult to primer leaving a little half moon on the edge as a result.  I am gauging all my primer pockets with a BA go no go gauge too and they pass.

I am thinking of setting up the 750 with the Lee Swage it decapping die on station #1 and then in #2 using the Lee Swage die with the anvil in the toolhead to support the brass and shell plate and have the Swageit mounted below?  My only concern would be to much pressure and over swaging the brass but I would think you could adjust the top die to correct that?  The bottom piece on the Lee APP swage kit has a spring in it to prevent over pressure but with the swageit on the Dillon it would be a solid mount.  The top die from Lee is adjustable for the amount of pressure you can place on the brass.

Just looking for feedback from more experienced reloaders before I try this and screw something up.

I have never used a Swage It, but a couple guys on ARFcom use it. One guy says he has excellent results by lubing the primer pockets alone with the rest of the brass when prepping brass.
