Vista Outdoors (CCI, Speer, etc.) announced earlier this week that it has more than $1B in outstanding orders for ammo.  They're running 24/7 and just can't keep up.  Although they're adding capacity, they're doing so cautiously bc of how things have gone in the past.

Vista Outdoors buying up more and more companies will help make ammo and primers more scarce. Vista has CCI, Speer, Federal and now Remington. Not only is that ammo but 3 of 4 major suppliers of primers in the U.S.

On an educated guess I’m figuring that any chance of imported primers drying up completely.

I have and like the Caldwell on that slips on to a mount that is secured to a picatinny mount.  Mfr Part: 530143  You have to buy additional mounts (123904) separately.  I bought more than one mount to be able to put it on different AR's.

Just don't forget to zip the bag back up when you empty it.  Doesn't work quite as well catching brass at that point.  Ask my how I know.  🤣

I use the same brass catcher, only time I don't use it is at a match. I hate losing good brass especially Grendel, 6.8, Creedmoor

Just got a Typhoon F12 a couple weeks ago and I'm about 250 rounds into it is all. It ran 1250fps Estates right off the bat so I haven't bothered to run anything heavier - about 150 of those. It would just about run 1145fps as it got dirtier, but not 100%. I got a #31 drill bit that miked .113 and it would nearly fit into the factory gas ports so I figured it was a good starting point. That cleared out some burrs and maybe opened the ports ever so slightly. It's running 1145fps shells right now. It needs lots more shooting but after 4 or 5 magazines of 9 rounds back to back without a hiccup, signs are pointing in the right direction at least. Mine is marked "Model 12.1" and has much improved welds on the bolt carrier/action arms than pictures I have seen of earlier ones. Next club match is next weekend, so we'll see how it fares when the gremlins are out.

What magazines fit the Typhoon and who stocks them?

Out of curiosity, have you compared the Justice to the Kingslayer?  I have the Kingslayer on my Open gun and, while the dot is incredibly crisp, it is small and the brightness isn't enough to stop it from getting washed out on white steel in moderate sun.  It'll even get washed out on cardboard in really bright sun.

I really like the Kingslayer, but losing the dot isn't optimal.

I have a Kingslayer too, for the price it isn't bad. I have shot the Justice more and never had it wash out even in the bright Texas sun in caleache bays (which is a real white dirt)

How is the brightness? I've been trying to find a size comparison to other optics in the same price range.

I also have a RMR. The Justice dot is smaller but brighter, crisper dot. Also the glass is pretty much crystal clear.

  6. I have one on one of my X-5's. My other X-5 has a RMR on it. The Justice is a lot faster target to target, glass is way clearer than the RMR. Only thing the RMR does better is you can drop the RMR on concrete numerous times from shoulder height.

He drops it 5' on to concrete. If that happens in a match you're DQ'd anyway. Any dot with a big window and a thin frame around the lens is going to fail his test. The only way to pass is going to be smaller windows with thicker body like the Holosun's. But competitors tend to want big glass to see more. It's one of those can't have you're cake and eat it to kind of things I think.

Holosun's are pretty solid, and they can turn around a warranty repair in 14 days including shipping both ways during the peak of Covid. Guess how I know.

Also Aaron has a full magazine in the pistol when he drops it. Now when people drop a pistol it is usually not directly on the optic.

Okay, so now you can get a METAL framed P320!  :)  Let the swapping of grip panels begin! LOL!!!

I heard it uses a different magazine. That is a deal killer if you already have a bunch of P320 mags. The difference I heard is in the feedlips.

The newer BOSS Hangers are drilled to both the common 'Bladetech' pattern but also the Safariland.

Check out Red Hill Tactical. I have them on my production rig, couldn’t be happier.

What part number are you using?

Mags falling out are no fun, especially when you need a fresh mag for a last little array and find that last mag isn’t there.

I am kinda leaning toward the TTI stuff but I was unsure if they would make the 17 rnd mag too long.

Yeah, wanna pick up a couple when they are on-sale (my fav word next to free).

Well hurry up! Sale ends tonite

    New Legion owner here...

Which mags and or basepad combos meet the 140 mm requirement?

Go to Springer Precision, they say which base makes 140mm with which tube 17 or 21/22. Might check Taran Tactical too. TT has a sale through tonight, so go burn up those credit cards!
