  1. My trigger was terrible stock.  It was so heavy it maxed out my trigger pull scale.  With the GG comp kit it is between 2.5 and 3 lbs depending on where you pull it with the scale.  It is worlds better.
That said,  the reset is not what I would like but I can (and have to) live with it.
Coming from Open guns with 1.25lb triggers I tokk about 2k rounds for me to adapt to the SIG trigger.

The tungsten guide rod makes a pretty significant difference over steel.
I am a huge fan of the SSI  tungsten weighted grip and tungsten slug.

Pfft my "homemade" grip had me at 44oz as well with the tungsten guide rod. It's really a negligible difference, I had hoped it would be significant but it's more placebo than anything. To each their own but the $800 you're suggesting someone spend on an $850 gun will not be a significant improvement.

your comment at it's most basic flies in the face of physics.

Any vids of you shooting it Shady?

I will try to get some this weekend.  I know Max was running this grip at Nats.  Sonny Morton too.  I think there were several more.
There is a big difference between the homemade versions that "got almost 6 oz added" and this one that adds right at 11 oz.  It's the same weight added as adding a steel grip to a 2011 over a plastic grip

I also ditched my DIY heavy tungsten grip because I can't tell the difference shooting it from my non weighted grip. But the silicon carbide grip makes a major difference and I do like the tungsten recoil rod as well.

I can sure as heck tell a difference in this one.  Like it's a totally different gun.

My Dillon teething troubles are long over and nearly forgotten.  I don't want to start over with another brand.

Has anybody opened the Mk 7 box, set up the machine and gone to loading?  If he has, I don't think he posted here.

    I did.

  6. Best way to get fast splits is to not care about fast splits.  Two years ago I was trying to shoot fast and .17 was as fast as I could go.  I gave up on it.  Now I can shoot .12-.14 pretty much on demand.
In reality, splits ( so long as you can stay .20ish) don't matter much.
Work on things that will improve your match performance like transitions, entries and exits.

+4 or whatever it is up to now. Everglades MRH for the win.

The Universal uses a piece of round stock as the hanger, similar to a racemaster (but not the dovetail design of the alpha-x). The everglades uses basically the same body but the hanger is totally different and I personally think it might be more secure than the Universal. That is a guess just based on my experience with the RM.

The old style Universal doesn't use round bar.  I have one of the new ones also and it does.  I prefer the old.  I set it up over 2 years ago and haven't done anything to it except blow it out with my air compressor once.

I have used a Racemaster for the past few years. Just switched to the Everglades magnetic race holster. It is better in pretty much every way shape and form IMO

yep.  2 years ago I switched from the racemaster to the universal which is the same design as the Everglades.  Superior in ever way to the racemaster

    I'm assuming you're talking about 38 Super/Super Comp?

Do you feel the same way about shorties shooting 9 major?

Yes.  They are a little bit harsher but Shay has them so close in feel many of us have 9 barrels for practice.

Top shooters shoot what they’re highest paying sponsor wants them to shoot, generally. Now, what they shot to GET to that level, when they were paying for their guns, is another story

Not really.  At Akai every team guys get to shoot what he wants.  In all honesty I don't know anyone that is forced to shoot a particular configuration.  Thye may have to shoot from their builders catalog but beyond that...
This is video filmed yesterday of my 4" commander length gun with titanium comp and 177PF ammo.  The new shorties are as flat and many cases flatter than full sized guns.  That is why they are growing in popularity .  They aren't "soft shooting" by any means.  They really hit your hand hard but they pay off in spades with flat trackability and quick handling.
I will ask Shay later, but I would be willing to bet 95% or better of the open guns he is building are mid and shorts.

Will see who wins nationals and what length gun he will be using. Same goes for the ladies as well. I think full length will be the winner.

That will be a change.  A short or mid gun has won the last 3 for sure.

Just take a look at what the top open shooters are using and if you get a chance to ask one why they use what they are using. Thanks, Eric

Not sure who you are watching.  Short is in and selling like hotcakes.  ESPECIALLY at the top of the food chain.
