  1. What didn't you like about the N350? Those FMJ bullets will clog up your comp if you don't keep cleaning it I am trying AutoComp because it is cheaper. Going to see if I like it. What bullet do you shoot?
  2. That is a great tip. I'll try it next time. Thanks man.
  3. The VV powders: 124 RN-FMJ, Win SPM primer 7.5 grains of N350 = 1,344ft/sec 8.7 grains of 3N38 = 1,365ft/sec
  4. Here is a little load data: 124 RN-FMJ, Win SPM primer 7.0 grains AutoComp = 1283ft/sec 7.5 grains AutoComp = 1355ft/sec (168 PF)
  5. I am on the AutoComp test, as well. I have been through a couple of VV powders (3N38 and N350). Going to see if this will work out.
  6. Thanks for the website. Looks like pretty good prices. I typically by powder and primers locally so I can avoid the hazmat fee.
  7. Yeah, but I am concerned about taking it apart if needed.
  8. I shot up 1 lb of 3N38 and N350 each. Now I am on to Winchester AutoComp. I am shooting 124grain RN FMJ bullets.
  9. FullRace - The cost of powder is not a huge issue to me, but still if I am shooting 1-3K rounds per month it seems like a savings. If they were close in cost like 30 bucks probably not a big deal. However, it is about 75 dollars more on 8lbs. Basically, 151% of AutoComp.
  10. I shot up 1 lb of VV N350 and VV 3N38. Both worked great, but I am trying AutoComp because it is much cheaper.
  11. Well I have been practicing with my new 38 super and I have shot my first match in Open. I shoot again on Sunday. I am really liking shooting this gun. It is fun and fast. I had one of my fastest draws on a steel plate today at 1.17seconds.
  12. Well after about 200 rounds the front screw that holds the C-More to the mount loosened up and fell out at the range today. I guess I am going to be a lock-tite guy. Against my will. This gun must rattle screws loose!
  13. I just had a light primer strike with my Winchester small pistol mag. I will have to pay more attention to which primers that happens with the most. I bought 1000 CCI small rifle, so I'll give them a try also.
  14. just shot my first rounds of AutoComp. 7.5grains with a 124 RN-FMJ, 10 shots with an average velocity of 1355ft/sec.
  15. I should have 8lbs of AutoComp at the end of next week. I'll let you know what I think.
  16. Does anyone have a preference on using small rifle versus small rifle magnum???
  17. At this point, I am just having a hard time justifying the cost. I am not sure that I am shooting at a level where gas volume is going to make the difference for me. I am not certain that VV powders truly produce more gas to make the compensator work better. Is there data on this somewhere?
  18. I am told that there is a good deal on Magtech primers. Anyone have any thoughts or advise? I think I can buy Winchester SPM, locally, for around 32-35/1000.
  19. I should add that I had to shoot the last match with a rubber band around the grip. It was a little embarrassing, for me.
  20. Neither of us exploded! Now the grip safety is still functional, yet very sensitive.
  21. You might have noticed the abused punch that is pointing to the surface I ground and polished.
  22. I have a bunch of Winchester small pistol magnum primers that I will be using for a bit.
  23. I have been having fun doing some amature tuning on my gun. First, I shaped my thumb safety. Second, I super-tuned the beavertail/grip safety.
  24. I have been wondering if different primers might affect bullet velocity. Here are the results (each average velocity, below, was from a 10 shot group): VV N350, 7.5grns, 124 FMJ-RN 1,344 ft/sec - Winchester small pistol magnum (WSPM) 1,355 ft/sec - Winchester small pistol regular (No. 1-1/2 - 108) 1,313 ft/sec - Federal small pistol magnum (No.200) 1,313 ft/sec - CCI small pistol magnum (550)
