  1. Here is my updated limited gun. Ryan was outstanding and easy to deal with. I had everything coated except for the hammer, sear, disconnector and trigger. My S&A magwell was coated, but I swapped it out with the DP one I like better. Finish is very smooth and even. Top notch all around.

  2. On a couple instances, it looked like as you finished with your reload, your off hand would end up in the wrong position on your grip, making you have to conciously readjust it before continuing to fire.

A good way to fix this is to practice your reloads very slow and ensure that you hit that proper grip every time and then increase your speed as consistency increases.

  3. I just started shooting Production in December with an XD-40 Tactical. I have about 5000 rounds through it and it has been 100% reliable. I love the grip angle and the STEEL magazines. I just used it to win HOA Production at the Double Tap Championship. It is a very solid gun/design and will serve you well. There are also many options for it as far as sighting systems.

There are several very successful GM's out there shooting XD's and I believe Rob Leatham won last years Production Nationals shooting one. I think it is just as competitive a design as the Glock. I would say buy one, shoot the crap out of it, if you don't like it, sell it.

  4. Sorry to bring up an Old thread, however, I just won Production division at Double Tap Championship. There were two GM's in attendance (on shot 99% of me and one 92%) and I am currently classified as an M in Production and GM in Limited.

My question is whether or not this match will be used as a Classifier for me (100%). I have heard that there has to be three GM's in your division for that to happen, however I have not found a rule or policy anywhere that specifically lays out what the standards are for inclusion of matches as classifiers.

Thanks in advance for any info.

  5. It's very easy to judge when seeing something from one side and after the fact. To get an understanding of why the officer's (agents) did what they did, you would have to know what they KNEW leading up to the incident. You could list just as many stories indicating that officer's were assaulted or killed by "nice" people who wouldn't have hurt anyone.

Not condoning anything, just trying to get people to think. I am a police officer and deal with this kind of criticism constantly, I have a thick skin, PM me if you want to discuss it. Thanks.

  6. I can see the rational to keep it off the slide. We often have to work the slide to load the gun on the clock or clear malfunctions. No doubt that the grip tape on the slide would be a modification when viewed from that regard.

Here is the applicable rule for USPSA Production:

21.6 Aftermarket grips which match the profile of the OFM standard for

the approved handgun and/or the application of grip tape or rubber

sleeves is permitted. Modifications to grips, other than previously

mentioned, not allowed, such as grooves cut to reach mag release

    or size reduction.

I don't think we have a definition of "grip". To me, it would mean anywhere I touch/hold onto the gun while shooting. So, the underside of the trigger guard would be go to go for me.

Kyle, that was my thinking also. I will have to inquire of the NROI gods about this one and I will get back to you guys.
