  1. I want to get the PT rest but heard people were having issues with the nitro fin and the pt one... just a rumor and wanna verify; if people are really having issues. Something about messing up the barrel lugs... is there any truth to this ???

I really want one because I dont want to drill my new frame. I already have gogas one on an old frame.

  2. Not my experience at all. With an aftermarket gunsmith fit barrel and a 13# spring starting in a new gun I have always had a few hiccups to start. It never lasted more than the first hundred rounds unless there was an extractor problem. This gun has run the next 500 hundred without an issue so I would say it will continue until something wears out. I don't think I have had a problem with a stock gun but none of mine have stayed stock for very long. In my experience this is very normal.

I see what you are saying now. Stock Glocks run from the beginning and your modified Glocks need a breaking in period.

    Pretty easy to figure out...

Stock Glock barrels are soo forgiving while the kkm barrels have alot tighter chambers. And this is further amplified if you load your own rounds.

  3. I have his gen 4 kit and I'm happy with it just dry firing it ... I have yet put a round down range cannot believe the customer service Johnny give out to us customers.

I do hope I can find a combination that will light off my winchester / cci rifle primers...

looking forward to shredding with this...

  4. I cannot say anything about the PT grip yet. I have fondled the grip at a local match but mine has yet to be delivered.

The STI on the other hand is definitely slimmer in profile than the polymer grip.

  5. I've had 3 Black STI grips cracked... Had them warranty it and replace with polymer grips. All the STI aluminum grips were fitted correctly where they would just slide on and off. And all of them cracked at the same general area; right above the mag release. Right where the grip meets the frame.

1 = was on my open gun lasted a only 2 matches

2 = lasted for 5k rounds and had stress cracks

3 = lasted only 4months and I could see daylight on it

I gave up on aluminum ... And placed an order for a couple of Ti grips from PT...

I know PT's aluminum should be alittle better 7076 vs 6061 aluminum...

  6. thereby allowing the slide to just kiss the frame instead of crash into it.

Did you use to sell used cars?

What's the standard stroke? How much do you add? What do you add, less than 10%? Physics still apply. Crash to kiss by adding 10%..... not buying it.

    uncalled for ...

no need for personal attacks when you dont agree with someone.

  7. can you use the beaver tail on your Gen 4 Glock since its a factory add on ???

Yes, but I don't care for them personally. They seem to keep me from getting my grip as high on the gun as I can without them.

I'm unlucky cuz I get soo high that I get slide bite all the time and its soo bad that I almost drop the gun at the indoor range.

  8. I preffer a well balanced gun over a front heavy gun ... My 6" is very well balanced than my 5" ... My 5" cycles alot faster ( 11.4oz slide) and transitions faster. But my 6" just feels much better; when I run it ... It also cycles slower so my slow eyes can keep up with the sights.

As for the tungsten barrel ... You want a heavy gun you just start with a heavy gun ( i.e. full dust cover aka The Edge ) and if you want heavier add a tungsten guide rod and you want heavier than that add a steel grip and if you want heavier than that add a tungsten sleeve on the barrel.

What I've notice from watching numerous friends shoot IPSC in the Philippines ... Its very rare that you shoot a stage like a USPSA stage ( 30+ rds ). Its usually only in the 19rd to low/mid 20's round count. Even the mid 20's are rare. So theres alot less transitions happening in a PPSA stage that there is in a USPSA stage. So a super heavy iron pig of a gun would be still competitive but in long courses of fire which are normal at USPSA, it would start to lose ground on the lighter guns.

Horse $&!+ The name of the game is keeping the gun on target. If that weren't the case then why would you put a comp on an open gun? You can't put a comp on a limited gun to control recoil so you add weight plain and simple. Every monkey with a milling machine cuts guns up and tells everyone it's "better". Why do you think there is a weight limit for single stack? If weight wasn't an advantage and "slowed you down " why would it matter?
Isnt that what I'm saying a lighter gun will always be faster than a heavy gun. And thats the reason why they dont allow slide cuts in single stack because of the weight advantage ...
Not at all what you are saying. There is a MAX weight limit for single stack of 43 ounces. Why do you think that is? Because weight (especially in the front) is an advantage.
Ok go run you 43oz single stack versus a 36oz single stack on the clock and tell which one is faster???

7 oz diff or .4375 lbs? I dont think you wont go slow with that pre

Pare that 7oz difference ... in transitions you will lose out on the clock to a lighter gun. Every time transitions will be faster on a lighter gun.

So if you re-read my original post; you might understand. If not let me break it down for you nice and slow. I prefer a well balance gun ( which is my 6" sight tracker). The key word is preference. Then I went on to mention if yoy wanted something heavy why to control felt recoil start off heavy with a full dust cover gun; etc etc...

And then mention IPSC and mentioned a heavier gun will lose out on a lighter gun in long courses of fire. So unless my cellphone is typing in Chinese. Where this horseshit your seeing ??? All I've posted are factual information.
