I guess I'm one fo the few that runs 200gr bullets out of my 6"

Ok, newb question, that section you cut from the top center of the slide is now somehow pinned to the barrel and this keep the front sight from moving with the slide? I commented on your original build of the Edge, I almost feel bad for wanting to take those comments back and apply them here instead, WOW HOLY WOWs of WOWs that is just awesome.
Thank you sir for your kind words... All the work was done by my gunsmith Jimmy Vidanes @ 1911 Speed Shop in Riverside CA...
The barrel is a hybrid barrel from schuemann ... where theres an island on top of the barrel and the front sight is on the barrel soo it hardly moves when the slide moves back. I made it this way to help out my weak and slow eyes...
heres the barrel off my 6" :
If there were a way to explain how well it shot I imagine their might be alot of drooling involved, I mean I'm already drooling and I'll never get to shoot something that nice. That gun is so purty I could not hit a target and still look good, lol.
well theres really no smoke and mirrors and no snake oil ... but the sight tracker really helps me, see the sight for the second shot... the movement of the front sight is less ...
But then again ... the gun does look purdy even though I missed the target ,,, hahahaha

; ; I want your gun, that's actually what I was looking at getting when I finally get an STI. I have decided on the edge, heard nothing but the best of raves from shooters of other guns that wished they still had their STI. That is one beauty to look at and I bet to shoot.
Thank you for your kind words...
I cant tell you I was very happy with my edge ... it just ran and ran and ran without hiccups other than ammo related issues...
You will or cannot go wrong with one...
But, I have sold the slide and had a new slide made and shes a sight tracker now...

I think I finally solved my Jamming issues ... Thanks to titandriver for the advise

Hey Glenn;
Whats the deal with the one with the butler cut ???
It looks like it has some sort of a bushing ... I've never seen that before ... can you elaborate on that ???
That is the bushing that Briley makes with the spherical ring, its held in by a supported reverse plug that keeps the bushing from spinning. I need to mill the cam lobe a little to clock the bushing. You can buy these in .698 drop in or .703 gunsmith fit, the rings come in .555 thru .589 for barrel size.
very very sick build !!! like I said I've never seen that before ... I might just build a single stack using that bushing... Thanks for sharing Glenn...

I use a Lee Factory Crimp die ... and I would pull one of the bullets in a batch just to make sure theres a slight ring around the bullet ... Then you should be good
0.421 crimp but if you use the sharp part of the caliper on the very edge of the brass where it meets the bullet ... MInes @ 0.419 crimp

Never ran Bayou Bullets but heard good reviews about them...
I run nothing but Bear Creek... Shot close to 30K soo far and very happy with them. Standard Deviation Arms sells them here

Um, another safety issue besides what has been mentioned here about fire control issues, you might want to work on getting your finger out of the trigger guard before you start your immediate action drill...sooner or later it's going to bite you with a DQ.
I dont get you ??? he pulls his finger off the trigger each time he racks the slide ...
-
what trigger and did you adjust the trigger stop??? I screwed up my trigger by screwing in the adjustment pin too much...

has happened to me before... the hammer follows to half cock ...
is your sear and hammer old ??? how many rounds ???
my trigger pull was soo light that when you drop the slide on an empty chamber it would follow... I solved the problem by swapping out the sear, disconnector, and hammer... problem solved...
You should try extreme trigger kits sold @ shooterconnection

range report:
been having issues with my barrel not accepting 1.180 OAL Lead... So I ended up shortening my OAL by alot... I ended with 1.155 to 1.160 OAL for it to run flawlessly...
But, heres my vid for today ... could have done better and focused more
6" Limited gun bullet weight
in 10mm/40 Caliber

I've been tuning it ... it finally just came together and ran perfectly last sunday...
I'm running 3.9gr of N320 w/ 200gr Bear Creeks 1.170OAL 0.421 crimp and Winchester Small Rifle primers deep seated ... hitting 170pf
Started out with 9lb recoil spring but switched it to a 12lb Wolff ( was actually a 10lbs but tested and was actually a 12lb) ...
It is a sight tracker if that makes a difference...
