  1. I tried the spitfire on my 1919 and wasn't a fan of it on a shotgun. I prefer something where eye relief isn't as critical. With the extra recoil and mixing in aerial clays it was a challenge to maintain a good picture with the prism style.

What I'm afraid of, I started with an EOTech 552 and it worked fine after a match. Heard that the recoil might eventually kill it so I switched it out with an Aimpoint T1 but I seem to lose track of the dot during recoil and prefer something with a bigger reticle. Happened to have a Spitfire on hand and I actually like the Green circle-dot. I got the eye relief on the right spot and ocular adjusted that it's not like looking through a tube. Haven't tried it at a match yet though, hopefully it works out. Added picture to show where the scope is at.

  2. Thanks for the replies. This build is currently set up for limited, and it has a Vortex Spitfire on it. Though it may get a magnified optic in the future. Max distance for matches around here is about 400, though 220-300 is more common for my monthly local match. I currently have a LW stainless barrel, but it doesn't seem to do well accuracy-wise when hot. I have an Odin 18" intermediate gas and a Rainier 16" mid gas to pick from to replace it. I like the looks of the Stretch, but was trying to stick with a $250-ish budget.

Rainier has a limited run of lightweight 16" intermediate gas for $299.

  3. Love shooting both, the Stock 3 is a tad softer to shoot for me. I had a CZ SP-01 for a month and a match and sold it to get the Stock 3, I much prefer the Large Frame magazines. You won't go wrong either way... both Stocks look sexy, but the Stock 2 is sexier as mentioned.

  4. Quick question for you guys...

I need a bladetech holster for a BOSS hanger that will work with a 1911 built on an STI Racemaster frame that was cut down to be single stack legal.

Which holster would I be looking to get? I believe the racemaster frame is wider than a traditional railed dust cover gun. STI Eagle holster maybe?

Right on with the STI Eagle holster.

  5. I have a narrow face and can never find glasses that fit. Well today I try on the rydons and they are a perfect fit. I need rx lenses so my choices have been extremely limited.

are you able to get these with prescription lenses? I have a face hard to fit glasses to as well and am in need of some with prescription lenses and have been struggling finding some that I like. Any recommendations?

I would highly suggest the Rydon with their FreeForm TEK prescription lenses, much better than the inserts; a bit pricey but well worth it. Get your prescription and order here http://bit.ly/rudy-gen1 for a great discount.

  6. Ok guys! I was asked where did I cut my sear to get it to fit. I've taken the picture from the EG site and did some work in paint. The part marked in RED is where I used my dremel with a cutting bit, but I removed a little bit at a time. Then reinserted the sear to test fit and see if the safety would engage. If not then I would go back and remove more until the safety engaged. Then I polished it and reinserted it to perform a full function check. See link below for picture

Exactly the process I go through but using a regular file. I've done it a few times already that I can fit one fairly quick by securing it on a vise; no need to modify the safety.

  7. I tried an Xtreme disco and the hammer would slip off of it about 10% of the time during the DA stroke. I did not modify it at all. Put the stock one back and it was fixed.

Honestly, I really don't see the need replacing the factory. Trigger pull is so light already which makes it useless to have a shorter pre-travel in SA.

  8. Built these two, top a 10.5" 300BLK and 7.5" 5.56 bottom. Heard about the amount of flash for short 5.55/223 barrels and hoping the SLR Mini Comp will help. Will also try lighter loads to see if it helps and like what Nebwake said, it looks really cool.
