  1. I fed my 929PC with Starline brass exclusively. New Starline brass for major sanctioned matches, used Starline for practice and local matches. I tried range brass, but had issues with the moonclips - too tight, too loose.
  2. Here's the data on a couple of my 147gr loads for the 929: NOTE - Starline brass 9mm-147-Berry_AutoComp-3.8147gr Berry's plated RN 3.8gr AutoComp Chrono data: Avg: 848.8 Hi/Lo: 836.9 - 874.8 SD: 12.2% ES: 37.9 PF: 124,709 9mm-147-Berry_AutoComp-3.9147gr Berry's plated RN 3.9gr AutoComp Chrono data: Avg: 856.7 Hi/Lo: 840.2 - 876.6 SD: 12.3% ES: 36.4 PF: 125,935 moderate effort to extract 9mm-147-Berry_W231-0.135/3.5147gr Berry's plated RN 3.5gr W231 Chrono data: Avg: 859.9 Hi/Lo: 810.9 - 888.7 SD: 23.8% ES: 77.8 PF: 126,400 ejected easily 9mm-147-Berry_W231-0.140/3.63 147gr Berry's plated RN 3.5gr W231 Chrono data: Avg: 891.5Hi/Lo: 864.1 b- 916.9 SD: 20.5% MAD: % ES: 52.8 PF: 131,047 No record on how easily it ejected
  3. I've been trying to work up some loads for my new 929PC. Seems that everything I've tried so far either doesn't make 125 power factor, or the cases stick in the cylinder. And, yes, my 929 also runs noticeably slower than my 5" semis (1911 & M&P). 147gr Berry's plated 3.5 gr W231 860 FPS 126.4 PF Brass ejects easily 147gr Berry's plated 3.63 gr W231 ** 892 FPS 131 PF Brass difficult to eject ---------------------------- 147gr Berry's plated 3.8 gr AutoComp 848 FPS 124.7 PF Brass ejects easily 147gr Berry's plated 3.9 gr AutoComp 857 FPS 125.9 PF Brass somewhat sticky to eject ---------------------------- 170gr moly-coated lead (Bear Creek) 2.59 gr W231 ** 720 FPS 122.3 PF Brass ejects easily 170gr moly-coated lead (Bear Creek) New Starline brass 2.95 gr W231 ** 771 FPS 131.1 PF Brass VERY difficult to eject ---------------------------- 170gr moly-coated lead (Bear Creek) 2.95 gr AutoComp ** 735 FPS 124.9 PF Brass ejects easily 170gr moly-coated lead (Bear Creek) 3.12 gr AutoComp ** 762 FPS 129.6 PF Brass ejects with moderate effort ** NOTE: Average of 8 rounds measured on RCBS digital scale
  4. I've got a P238 for my BUG and/or when carrying a larger gun isn't practical or whatever. IMHO it's a pretty respectable BUG. The SAO trigger beats most of the ultra-long DAO triggers on most of the competitors; it has real sights - night sights on my 'Rosewood', points very well and and Buffalo Bore JHP +P packs a decent wallop. It's certainly not up to the 1-shot stop standards of the larger calibers, but 6 shots with a 380ACP in my pocket beats the big bore at home, in the glove box, etc. The wife thinks the recoil is still too snappy on any of the pocket size 380's and much prefers her Ruger K-LCR running 38 Special.
  5. Like most forms of practice, practice, practice, dry firing is rather boring. Using my KJW Airsoft P226 adds some fun to the drill and gives me another opportunity to work on trigger technique. Is it as good as the real deal? Certainly not. But since the range is a 2 hour round trip and they're not giving ammo away, it seems to be a good alternative
  6. My wife has a P6 & she loves it. She especially likes that it is a quality service pistol shoots very nicely AND that it fits her hand. Plus she can rack the slide OK - something she can hardly do on my P226. Hers has the American-style magazine release & shows only moderate wear on the finish.
