If you're a competitive shooter, you might want to go with the AMG Labs timer...

It's a great timer, plus it has the ability to export stage times directly to PractiScore tablets using Bluetooth...  Individual shot times are also saved in the PractiScore match database and can be downloaded into PractiScore Competitor where they can be displayed graphically...  Multiple shooters can be compared visually on a shot by shot basis...  It's a great tool!

do you have some sort of pre-production version?   Show us some screen shots of info downloaded into practiscore from actual matches so we can see how it works.

I’ve used both products listed above, before I had an ultrasonic cleaner I would pour product into a bucket and then funnel it back into the jar when I was done.  let it soak for 30 min to an hour and scape off with a dental pick and wipe with q tips. Wash rinse repeat until satisfied with result.

Does that mat or roll keep the gun from vibrating against the side of the ultrasonic?

  3. For those that love the Speedcross--I just saw a Speedcross 5 on the REI website:

    https://www.rei.com/product/145906/salomon-speedcross-5-trail-running-shoes-mens

this isn't even on the Salomon website yet.

What's interesting is they seem to have gone back to the half-lugs at the edges of the shoes, which was a change from the 3 to the 4 (with the 4 having all full lugs)

The speedcross 4s are marked down at REI, too

  4. There certainly isn't a stainless option for the Edge on the STI site--wonder if that's all they're discontinuing.

I've got one on order--if they are stopping making them, I hope I get mine before the production stops

Judging by the email I just got from Dawson, STI has discontinued the Edge.  I really wonder what they’re trying to accomplish.

I didn't get the email--what does it say specifically?

  6. reading up on all the theories--(1)fast powder, heavy bullet; (2) slow powder, light bullet; (3) slow powder, medium bullet (135gr?) or (4) fast powder, light bullets, and have decided to try the slow powder and medium bullet.

In talking to they guy at the local reloading store, he said the slowest powder he'd recommend for PCC would be Alliant 2400, which offers no 9mm load data.   The guy at the store said as much ("you won't find any data for it, but it's worth a try....")   He also suggested trying Longshot and Accurate No. 7.

So, the question is--how slow is too slow for PCC loads?   The three powders I've seen show up most commonly in the slow powder PCC realm are Accurate No. 5, Hodgdon HS-6, and Win. AutoComp.  On the Graf's powder speed chart, those are ranked 45, 46, and 47, respectively.

Accurate No. 7, Longshot, and 2400 are ranked 54, 56 and 58 on the Graf's speed chart (and yes, I know these aren't relative speeds, but simply an order they're listed in such that there may be little meaningful difference between a powder from one value to the other).

But, given that No. 7, Longshot and 2400 are at least several values down the speed chart, are these viable powders for PCC or not?   JP has a "developing PCC loads" paper on their site where Longshot powder is used (all the powders are disguised by name).   So, at least it appears they are pushing into the edge of slower shotgun/pistol powders.

    What say you?

Just like nearly every “new” subject brought up this has been discussed before. I think the majority stand while reloading if I recall. Pretty easy to do a search for all the pros and cons. Much easier for me to stand so I can keep bullet feeder full, primers full, case feeder full etc.

is it at easy as you ignoring a post?

Built in 20moa isn’t that important with a 1-6 optic. Either would work fine.

you can get it with or without the 20 MOA cant.

it's really just the ultimate conundrum.  don't want to spend more than I have to, but don't want to skimp at the expense of performance.   just chatted with vortex online and they said either the precision or the pro would work just fine--just that that precision is built to slightly better tolerances

  9. Looking for scope mounts for mounting a Vortex Razor 1-6 on an AR.  Two from vortex seem like contenders:

    http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-precision-extended-cantilever-mount-qr-riflescope

    http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-pro-cantilever-riflescope-ring-mount-1

I know the first model is quick release, which I don't really need.  Wondering, as it frankly looks beefier (8.7 oz) is there any merit to the "precision" model for general three-gun shooting?

That being said, at what point are scope mounts essentially interchangeable?  I'm not talking about an inferior quality, crappy product, but is there ANY true advantage between top level manufacturers like Warne, Vortex, LaRue, Aero Precision---whoever?
