I'm hardly a feel good kind of guy but Amazon is a predatory monopoly undercutting legit small businesses run by your neighbors and mine. They will sell at a loss in order to control the market, driving smaller competition out ~ and then all bets are off.

When your community looses its downtown businesses and your neighborhood looses property value because your formerly Middle Class neighbors have to fire-sale their homes then it will impact you... your property value, tax base and quality of life will decline. Oh and you're already paying higher shipping rates, especially with the Post Office, because Amazon negotiated exclusive discounts based on volume which you are subsidizing. And don't think that Amazon bothered to pay taxes  this year - they didn't. But they sure did offshore their cash, hire H2b Visa holders for half the pay of an American, and automate their decently paid blue collar jobs. All while donating toad advocating for anti-2A and anti-free speech politicians who write boutique legislation for Amazon's benefit, not yours or mine.

Sorry ban me if you must... Amazon may win the free market but they're bad for most Americans. I rather accept a little inefficiency and higher cost if it means keeping more of the Middle Class intact.

F- Amazon. Same goes for Walmart, Harbor Freight and the big box stores. They deprive us of jobs and pass costs on to the taxpayers.

Do you buy ALL of your shooting supplies at local gun stores?   All your food at small markets?

  2. The time from order to acknowledgment to shipping is where Amazon pounds virtually all others.

We all have to put up with shipping delays or issues from time to time, but sitting on an order for days generally means i'm not buying from that dealer again

I hope this is a mistake.  If not, the shooting world has lost a giant, and one that had a most uniques ability to teach and communicate very clearly.

Why would you even consider this could be a mistake?

I currently run with an offset, I keep it with the same zero as my primary.  I wouldn't run a match with out it, if there are more than 2 targets that you are hard leaning for there is a good chance that being in the gun will be faster with transitions and better hits then counting on a laser, especially if the targets are at any distance. I don't see how a larger window would assist in hard lean situations. Also there will be a time that a laser and an offset won't help and you will need to be able to transfer to the week side so I would recommend being proficient in that as well. Like said above though every shooter and stages are different so try it all out if you can and see what works for you.

Laser isn't anything I'm interested in.

Do you have the same optic for the pair?  The same dot size?

  5. Figured this question was specific enough that I'd start a new thread:

I've watched Josh Froelich's JP video where he is using two red dots--specifically the offset one for hard weak-side leans (and shooting over barriers on low shots).   I've also seen comments that larger windowed optics, such as the Vortex UH-1, perhaps lessens the need for two smaller reflex optics.

Ultimately, has anyone played around with the double red dot and found it superior?   Or, have you used a UH-1 (or other larger windowed optics such as an EOTech or Holosun 510c) and found it is good enough for weak-side leans?

    What say you?

    Thanks

  6. Northern Colorado is a fairly nebulous location.   If you're close to Cheyenne, there are defensive pistol and IDPA matches at the Otto Road shooting range.   There's defensive pistol matches at the Northern Colorado Rod and Gun Club, and there are front range USPSA matches listed at the ECOUSPSA.com site.

Wow! You don’t support our forum vendors? One that gives us a discount?

No, I don't suffer fools readily.

Has nothing to do with supporting or not supporting forum vendors blindly.

I realize you are new here but you are way off base with this. We don’t air our complaints with vendors here. Especially with such a top shelf company as Shooters Connection that goes above and beyond in support of our sport.

This is literally the most stupid statement that's ever been uttered in the history of this forum.   But, considering the source, it's not a surprise.

Have you gone to one of the ultra light rear stocks to counter it already? That Smoke one looks like it has to help some.

Also what magwells, if any, are you guys running on the JP?

Note that Taylor Freelance has just come out with a metal magwell for the GMR-15 which they claim does not scratch the lower when it is mounted.   I don't have one, but just saw the release note  the other day.

I live about 60 miles from Wilson Combat my self and have shot there AR9 for over a year.  At the time they didn't even have part numbers assigned to the maintenance parts IE firing pins, roll pins etc. I called and tried to order some roll pins for the extractor and spring powered ejector and was told that they didn't ship those parts and I would have to send my rifle in for them to put two roll pins in my bolt..............not kidding..........I said no thanks and bought a JP GMR-15.  Haven't shot the Wilson since and love the JP and it is a much better value.  Actual experience with both rifles now for over a year, I would buy the JP and not waste my money on the Wilson AR9.

Was also thinking about a Wilson for no other reason than I'd like to have a Wilson firearm of some sort.  Aside from the bizarro maintenance issues, does the JP shoot better than the Wilson?   (dot rise/recoil impulse/reliability?)
