Dawson is nice, but a little pricey. For a 9mm I run a regular guide rod and reverse plug. Your side will be light, so you can drop the spring weight some. If you use buffs/stack them, you can drill a new hole in the guide rod for takedown.

Get it in spray bottle from wall mart or local oreillys/autozone

4.0 gn clays at 1.25 gave me 180 pf. Fkn accurate.

You could probably get some cheap brass, i think most of us hate small primer .45 brass.

My credit card and wife said "to quite mentioning CAMDEX."
I have family in gville, if you get Camdex, I will have a reason to visit.
-
the only reason that I can think of to do this would be purposefully shortening the stroke and lightening the recoil spring. What is it that you are looking to accomplish? You dont need to save the frame with minor loads.
-
i have been looking at both of these. the micro seems to small for me, add the extra cheese and it makes it something that I am not sure I want to try. RTS is pretty promising. looked through one recently on a 9 major and I am not sure why I haven't pulled the trigger on it.

WTF that looks awesome.

the only reason to not spend $$ on a major match is if you are not classified in a division you will be shooting. if you are unclass, you will basically be running against the GM, or highest class. Other than that, level 2 is great.

My brother-in-law has a square deal that was rebuilt by Dillon. They had returned it with a brand-new powder measure. However Accurate Arms Number 7 was so fine in his powder measure that it would constantly lockup. The return rod would pull on the powder measure so hard that it would shake the whole powder measure scattering powder all over the machine in producing light loads. When he contacted Dillon for a new powder measure they said that they would not replace it. I have not had any problems with any of the Accurate Arms powders in two different powder measures. So much for Dillon's no BS warranty.
have you relieved, debured, and polished the interior of the measure? The face of the powder bar must also be true. With dense powders, the weight of the powder can cause uneven powder drops / lockup. Run a powder baffle. I run two powder baffles and would swear by them. Pm me if you need help with any of the above and I will start a DIY thread for this.

you could cut it short and fit the barrel. just be ready to live with the larger gap. O, and probably need to cut it for a reverse plug, if not already done.

Helped a friend assemble a used 550B and noticed an extra part that mine doesn't have. P/N 14015. Primer Track Bearing. So I email Dillon and told them the story. They told me that my 550B did not come with that part but yet in my manual it shows the part! They also told me they would charge me for the upgrade part if I wanted it. Go I guess the current Dillon has changed and are now charging for replacement parts!
A. If the rep told you that your press didnt need the part, why wouldnt you just buy it for a whopping 4$? Why would I ask this? Because your press worked fine without the part. From the sound of it, your press has been working well for quite a while (what year was the upgrade put into affect) and the only reason you know anything about a part is because it came on someone else's press. Otherwise you would be here complaining that you had to purchase a Dillon part -Because your machine would not run without it! Not the case, here is how I know.
B. It was working fine last year when you had an issue with locator pins. Now I am guessing, after reading how upset you are/were over a 4$ part, that the #2 locator pins cost you nothing (I could be wrong)otherwise you would be complaining about consistently bad service.
C. as it stands, I hope that your 550B is still running as well as it has been for a while. Hopefully you go back, load some ammo on that machine, and realize that if anything breaks (that you originally paid for) it will be backed by an Outstanding NO BS warranty.
-
I will NEVER buy any Progressive press that doesn't say DILLON on it. "hey I lost/broke xxxxx part, and it is completely my fault. What do I owe you for the replacement part and shipping"? 99.99% of the time the answer is NOTHING. NO BS WARRANTY. If i could afford a Camdex it would still have to fit next to my Dillons.
I only read the last page of this thread, I will probably post again once I have read the first.

C&S makes one. I did not keep it in the gun.

You do not need the buffer with minor ammo. If you must use a buffer, use the dawson aluminium buff. It is thinner. Also ensure that you are replacing or resetting your mag springs, storing them empty or removed helps. I am running a similar setup minus buffer. Mag springs are key in 9mm SS.

Hardy (designed the metal spacers) recomends NOT glueing. That being said, lots of guys glue them. If it ait broke.......

The hybrid commander is AMAZING it shoots like an open gun. Very fast and flat. I had a buddy of mine (Master Class Open shooter) take it for a test drive and although we did not have a timer on it he had to be doing sub 2 bill drills with it and for a 45acp 4.25" that is rockin! I was shooting 2" off hand at 15 yrds with it. The 2011 45 is also a dream. Shooting 1" groups rested at 25yrds with it and I am very happy with that one as well.
I am really getting excited that my 6" Schuemann barrel is on the way so I can get started on my 6" sight tracker!!!!
I was up at Jeff Abernathy's shop a while back. He was showing me his 6in sight tracker, full dust cover. Start dreaming up the most ridiculous slide lightening ever, the dip on slide return was quite noticeable.

Move out of California. That is the most ridiculous stuff that I have heard. We are freaking out about welding up our big sticks and you cant get a single stack .40. UN-RIGHTEOUS. There is a land over the hills known as Texas. We should all go there.

You can also file the factory dies down to the carbide sizing ring to resize to the web. Your new u die will do the same thing though.

the cone does not come off, if it is.

are you talking about a cone compensator?
-
Maybe a pic would help. Generally you would put the comp in a vice and use a crescent to turn the barrel after heating the comp.
