  1. Support you can expect: 4 day passes from your Troop/Company Co.

AMU soldiers deploy for 30-90 days to train Soldiers and police/military. If they are there over 30 days, they get a patch.

If you want financial support, work for it, don't look for a handout. There are ways to save money on parts and ammo, do what you can. #1 way to save money as a e-3, eat at the DFAC.

  2. At nationals perhaps. This is not golf +15, if a shooter requests some silence, then I will bring it down a notch. Barring that request, you are only shooting a fraction of the time while at a match. This is a social event.

For you "this is not golf" guys, please explain to me how it is so different? Spectators are quiet at the teebox/green because a competitor is about to do something that requires his or her full concentration. How is this any different than a shooter being in the shooting box?

Before pistols, I shot skeet competitively. In almost every squad I ever shot with, it was expected that the rest of the squad be quiet while a shooter was on the pad. You started a conversation when someone was about to pull, everyone else would look at you like WTH is your problem.

Silence REQUIRED? Na, not possible. However, I feel like it should be more commonplace.

Wes777, you might consider SC/USPSA a social event, but I can assure many others do not.

I love socializing with my shooting buddies, and it is a big plus, but I for one spend all the time and money that I do because I like to COMPETE.

lol, lets not get it twisted, my intent is winning, and beating shooters outside of my division. I have rarely seen a shooter get flustered about the noise. A shooter on the SS might want lower noise levels, but in my limited experience, the SS tends to hush up and watch each other shoot on their own. I just dont get what the fuss is about. I understand not directing comments to the next shooter while he is at the starting position getting ready to Make Ready. That would be irritating, and perhaps that is what we are talking about. I could be off point if that is the case.

    Skeet reminds me of golf.

  3. could be an issue with the interaction on the following parts:

    striker foot

    trigger bar cross/"sear"

    trigger bar nose

    connector

If the gun is firing reliable, that would eliminate the trigger bar nose, but not the connector. Since your connector is factory and is resetting 90ish percent of the time, it is probably not the problem.

that leaves us with the trigger bar cross and striker foot interaction. If either of these parts are not resetting with the correct interaction, the trigger would fail to reset. best way to check the interaction is to use the ghost orange plate so that you can observe the parts in the gun.

  4. You should run the same general setup again. However, move the no-shoots. Try putting them behind the poppers and leaving the paper open. Should reinforce the aiming at shorter distances and allow the newer shooters a larger scoring area.

  5. I just keep messing them up. I'm ok with it, get accused of bagging at every match! Truthfully, i dont want my classifier scores to reflect something i cannot Consistently reproduce in a match.

If you develop a mindset to shoot Alphas you will see your consistency improve as well, I beleive.

I am shooting a lot of A's. On some stages I will become lackadaisical and allow the C's to pile up. I feel as though I do not give classifiers the attention that they need/deserve. Part of this is due to the reason I stated previously. The rest comes down to my mental game. I know that I can shoot A's, quickly. I make small mistakes which deprive me of a faster time to divide those A's with.

  6. the amount of rounds you shoot has nothing to do with getting better ...

As a universal statement, the way you said it, this is not true. There is a point where pouring bullets at the problem will not help without some determination of what the problem is and how to fix it.

Go find a top GM who has not fired ALOT of ammo in practice to get where he is now. Amount of ammo is essential.

Not saying that you can't do it with less than myself or someone else, but no one walks out there, having never fired a pistol, and smashes sectionals, area, or nationals without having fired alot of practice ammo.

There are alot of things dry fire can do for you, I am not denying that. You have to reinforce that with live ammo.

  7. It's a wash.

Most of the issues with an aftec can be solved with new springs, or learning which springs require less tension.

Alot of complaints about aftec extractors are actually problems with the ejector.

If you know how to properly fit a standard extractor, buy two and tune them. A little vice love every so often goes a long way.

  8. I have Wilson ETM and Tripp mags in the setup you are thinking about. Wilson's with no-gap pads function well. Using the factory setup, your mag changes must be friggin perfect every time or you will have lots of mags fail to seat, and lots of pain during matches. The Tripp mags with no-gap pads are a little longer and WAY easier to seat.

I dryfire with the Wilson's and run matches with Tripps.

If you go with the Wilson's, cut a bit off of the spring, makes life way easier. I will take pics of mine if you need them.

Save yourself the irritation and get the Tripps.

  9. Interesting question, all bullets must travel at least 750 fps, so with a cushion, 800 fps with a 95 grain bullet would give you a PF of 76! This could be fun, and achievable.... Definitely training to keep thumbs off of the slide. If your akai gun is as tight as mine, functioning could be an issue.

You will need ISMI recoil springs and a 15-17lb ISMI mainspring. ISMI springs are inherently lighter than their wolf counterparts. I would order 6,7,8,9 lb springs and be prepared to start at the bottom and work up.

    95gn MG bullet

VV Powder (need to stay as clean as possible)

310 would be the best, start at around 3 gn and chrono, check function and adjust.

320 (next best choice) start at 3.5 gn and follow same procedure.

In your barrel, accuracy should be pretty good. Once you find a load that meets your accuracy, velocity, and functioning requirements, move up the recoil spring rate and ensure that you have the spring that gives you the best shot to shot performance. Let us know how it goes.

  10. + or - .008, that is a little far but depending on the case capacity, powder, and bullet you are using there should not be much of a difference in velocity. Assuming that you are asking because your variance used to be .006 or so and not .016, i think the accuracy would also come down to the barrel, bullet, powder, and mixed brass.

Personally, i am loading mixed brass at + or - .002 to .004 depending on my give a F level at the time. I check charge weight twice in the first 100 rds and leave it. After a couple of k rds i will randomly dig through the box and go chrono. Sd is usually around 10 and they are more accurate than i can shoot.

I wouldn't worry about it as long as they all chamber check.

  11. So, as a follow on question, how many holes to use with the shoto comp?

I have 1 and am considering more. I will wait to shoot someone else's in 9 before i do. My experience, so far is that it tracks up and down, but if i squeeze the snot out of it, it stays put and squiggles. But we are talking about alot of grip.

  12. You haven't stated what the application is, so how would we know what you are trying to achieve?

Dont shoot any exposed lead through the comp.

Your bottom spring weight is to strong. When you add a comp, you need to drop the spring rate. 11lb spring is in the minor pf iron sight range. For a minor pf open glock, i would try dropping to 9, maybe less. Most guns in your configuration running Major will take a sub 13 lb spring to get reliable ejection.

Need to follow recomendations from your other, almost identical, thread. Change your powder, and at least use a Molly coated bulled.
