I use a polymer click 6moa on my PCC and a poly std switch 8moa on my open gun. I don’t think the material or switch style make much difference. I like the slightly smaller dot on the carbine, but I’d imagine either would be find and you can change the dot module later if needed.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkFYI re: changing dot modules ... You can put the aluminum dot in the polymer sight, but you would need to file the corners of the polymer dot to fit it in the aluminum sight.

do you have to declare on the paperwork for SBR (not sure of paperwork name) what caliber it is? If so would changing calibers void that paperwork?
Yes you list the caliber in box 4c of the ATF form 5320.1 (aka form 1).
No, changing calibers does not void the paperwork unless it's a permanent change. You have to notify the ATF when you make permanent changes to your SBR/SBS.

Do you have any factory ammo on hand that you can test with?

Mine do, 100% of the time. I’m using a mag block with my SBR lower. Otherwise it runs great.
jbran - check out my SBR bolt picture in this thread: http://forums.brianenos.com/topic/252550-colt-9mm-magazine-feed-question/?tab=comments#comment-2810470
With your mag inserted in tripod mode, is your ejector aligned correctly with the bolt ejector channel? If it's getting jammed up against the top of the channel, you need to lower & tighten the mag block. They do creep upwards if not kept tight.

You'll probably get a lot more feedback in the Revolver forum.
Love my 686 revos.

I think they are very well made sights. Unfortunately for me, 2 MOA is too small for action or steel, and 65 MOA is too large and is larger than the cardboard targets & steel plates. I had to return it for that reason. Also, I told Holosun at SHOT Show that competition shooters prefer mechanical (instantaneous) reticle switching rather electronic switches which take too long.
For the money Holosun sights are a great value. If they come out with a 2 MOA & 35 - 50 MOA circle, I would buy 5 of them.
Just my 2 cents.

Just curious do all Colt lowers/mag blocks jam up the bolt if you use the mag as a tripod while shooting?
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI've never had that problem using the Spikes Tactical magblock with Metalform & ASC mags.

Searched come up empty handed. Searched the forum couldn't find anything. Throwing around the idea of perhaps modifying the takedown or building something to replace an assy pin. Anyone ever done such thing? Weld, solder, drill and tap? Limited gun. Also, I'm a virgin to the game havent even been to my first match. Background in trap and skeet, got boring.
Here are a couple:

Call or email Robin @ TF. He'll tell you exactly what to do. He took care of mine when I had that problem.

Well, I ordered my carbine and 2 days later (Friday) my FFL called to pick it up. I can only compare it to Colt SMG PCC types, as those are the only PCCs that I have built/shot.
Took it apart. Weight of carbine w/ 16" barrel is 6lb, 1 oz. with no mag or sights. The buffer is 3.25" long and weighs 2.93 oz. There is no feed ramp as such. The barrel/bolt looks like they modified an M4. You can see the M4 type of feed ramps and the center lug between them has been releaved. The BCG weight 11.78 oz. Combined BCG and buffer weight is 14.71 oz., pretty light.
So how does it compare to the compare it to the Colt SMG PCC types that you've shot?

Slide the bolt back and have a look inside. You'll see when it needs cleaning.
Also, get a bore snake and run it through the barrel a couple of times ... it literally takes 30 seconds to "clean" the barrel using this method.

You're going to want a slide racker for shooting steel: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1015864038/tactical-solutions-slide-racker-ruger-mark-iii-22-45-polymer-black

It does require a decent amount of force ... but it can be done. Like others have said, buy the mag bumpers and practice.
Get in the habit of keeping an empty mag in your range bag. You'll load it with enough rounds to handle classifier and regular stage reloads.
Mag changes are part of the game ... practice practice.

- It's a great product. I tested one of them.
- It looks like to you had to put a notch in your magwell to get the drum to fully seat.
- I told the X Products guys that they had to make the drum cheaper and lighter. Why would shooters spend $200 for a 50 round drum when they can spend $75 for 42 rounds (mag & TF extension)
Have fun with it. I'd buy a used one if I found it at a decent price.

Ditto on covering your range bag. You have no idea how much stuff is in your bag until it all gets soaked and takes 3 days to dry out.
Also, use water repellent spray on your bags & gun cases: https://www.amazon.com/Kiwi-Camp-Heavy-Water-Repellent/dp/B00QVL2L5E

Hello: I am going to be trying a Holosun 510C out tomorrow. I think the circle dot will be a nice thing to have. I did not like the Trijicon MRO I tried because of the bulky housing/mount and blue/green tint with slight magnification. With a different mount like the LaRue it maybe better for me. I am using a C-More railway right now with either a 4MOA dot or a 6 MOA dot depending on the day and type of match it is. Thanks, Eric
Let us know what you think of it. I loved the Holosun but found the 65 circle way too big. When shooting poppers or steel, the circle is larger than the target so you end up just using the center dot.

I tested the Holosun and found it very bright and well made. I also think 2 MOA is far too small for a PCC. If you're happy with your current 6 & 7.5 MOA dots, you may not be happy with a small 2 MOA dot. It would be great for accuracy, but not good for the speed of PCC target acquisitions. Just my two cents.

I've been using this one for about 10 years: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/939221689/midwayusa-competition-range-bag-system
I would take a look at the backpack versions like this one: https://www.cedhk.com/rangepack-pro-ipsc-backpack

I've run factory 115 to 147, and a friend's 165 reloads and never had a problem with any OAL in my Witness Elite Limited.

Most bolt catches are investment cast or MIM. I go through one every 12 - 18 months. Mine have bent, not broken. You can always try a machined version from harder steel.
Badger Ordnance & Vseven Weapeon Systems make machined versions. Probably other companies as well.
