  1. I have no problems with reliability, I carry a Witness in 40 every day, but obviously I have not modified either of mine as agressively as pictured. If you just take .020-.030 at a time you should not have a problem. The big difference would be if you are running some hot loads, and some factory loads. If you modded the ejector just for hot loads you might have trouble with factory loads. if you mod just for factory loads, you may still be chasing your brass 30yds with hot loads.

I shoot my own loads mostly 1200 - 1300 fps so if we could adjust it with 100% reliability all would be fine.

  2. [quote name='CHA-LEE' timestamp='1306438153' post='1462623' For me I would rather launch the brass across the room and have 100% reliable ejection verses ejecting the brass closer and have it jam. The goal should be maximum reliability while shooting. Not risk reliability in order to make a nice little brass pile next to you.

Cha-Lee: I agree and that is what I have out of my G20. I reload my brass and shoot inside. If your not concerned about picking up your 10mm brass then I assume you don't reload. The brass is not inexpensive and rarely do you find any lying around. I would have thought Henning or some other company would have designed one for the reloaders, maybe not. Thanks again for everyone's comments.

  3. The 10mm EAA pistols send the brass flying at the same trajectory as your buddies 40, but even further due to the higher slide velocity. You can change how far the bass gets tossed by shortening the ejector prong. But right out of the box the brass will get launched really far.

I understand the pin shortening but can anything be done to change the trajectory? If I can't retrieve my brass, indoor range, then that would eliminate the Limited, dang!

  4. Kwesi> The only after market sight options available for the EAA/Tanfo guns are made by Henning Wallgren. Currently he only offers optional front sights of different widths and heights. His front sights are way better than the stock sights. I like using the Henning .105 wide by .180 tall Fiber Optic front sight with a Green FO rod. Then I cut the rear notch width to .145 wide. This sight setup works out the best for me.

    Thank you!

  5. This isn't sight related, but if you haven't already thought about putting a Sprinco recoil reducer on that 10mm, you should. They don't make stiff enough springs to handle 10mm loads in these guns, and the Sprinco will keep you from battering your frame.

Feel free to PM me if you want any 10mm specific info/advice.

Nealio: thanks for the offer. His guns is .40 S&W and he shoots soft loads whereas my G20 is 10mm. I have a Wolf two piece 22# recoil rod in it. You actually replied to another post of mine regarding the Sprico recoil rod. I will get it if I go for the Limited. Thanks for the heads up.

  6. Several weeks ago my buddy showed me his Limited in 40 S&W and it looked gorgeous. I currently shoot a G20 with a KKM match barrel. We met last night so I could test fire his Witness. While I loved the feel of it, my accuracy was not noticably better than with my Glock. Possibly it was getting used to a much better trigger but for sure it is due to the stock sights.

My problem is that I wear glasses but only for reading. I've always had a problem with any standard blade/post sights. He had the red front sight installed but with the light at our indoor range it was not bright. I switched to a pair of 1X cheaters and then I could see the front sight. Over the past several years I've found two sights that work best for me:

    1. "Sure Sights" - do not believe they are made for the EAA

    2. Standard thick white Glock sights.

Can you school me on what other sight options are available for the Witness Match that might work for me? While I really enjoy my G20 and the KKM I will consider replacing it with a Match.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

  7. I think the KKM barrel would also take care of it. I have a KKM 10mm -> 40s&w conversion barrel, and it does not bulge brass at all, where as my standard 20 barrel certainly does.

I did call KKM and spoke with Kevin, the owner IIRC, and he confirmed his barrel will definitely eliminate the bulge and improve accuracy significantly. I'm trying to decide if it makes sense to sell the G20 & save the $$ on the KKM then up the cash for the Limited.

I hope some Limited owners will chime in. BTW: I do not shoot any competition at this time. I was real impressed when I held my friends Limited 40 S&W. That's what got this all started!

  8. Yes its fully supported and IMHO a much safer platform for the 10mm.

If you do switch to a Tanfoglio you need to get the Sprinco recoil reducer because they don't make stiff enough springs to keep the 10mm slide from hitting the frame if you are shooting hot loads. If you are shooting competition loads, you'll be fine.

Thanks Skydiver & Nealio: I do shoot hotter loads in the 1200 - 1300 fps. Is the Sprinco the ticket for this? So with the limited I will not have any more "bulge" near the base?

  9. I really enjoy shooting my G20 but my 3rd generation barrel is not fully supported thus leaving the Glock bulge. While it resizes fine I'm concerned about the longterm effect on the Starline brass. I'm considering chaging to the Witness Limited IF the chamber is fully supported. Can anyone tell me if it is?

I'm also considering getting a KKM barrel. Any experience with either of these options is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
