  1. .. including the young guns in the club that I helped starting out.

I think this might be referring in part to me ... so, I admit I'm guilty! :P

Well, now they tutor me rather than the other way around.

I don't really see it like this ... honestly, this comment makes me feel good because I hope that it means that finally we "the young guns" are able to contribute something to the body of knowledge that is the Richmond Hotshots instead of just taking. Mully said yesterday that it's really a team effort from all of us in the club and I'm just happy and proud to be part of that.

I'm sure the other shooters of "my generation" feel the same way. We owe you, Wayne, Steve, Steve, Russ, Alex, Sebastion, Ken, Thomas and the rest of Mother Richmond for everything we have been able to do. It makes us want to do better and keeps us coming back.

To be honest, the "next generation" is showing some good potential and great talent. It keeps me up some nights trying to figure out how I'm going to stay ahead of them. :o I just hope that we can remain true to the spirit, tradition, and example that you all have set for us and help them along.

    CONGRATULATIONS! :D

... you and Alvin had better watch your ass

    Bring it on, Dude! B)

  2. I'm a Lamborghini Murcielago!

You're not subtle, but you don't want to be. Fast, loud, and dramatic, you want people to notice you, and then get out of the way. In a world full of sheep, you're a raging bull.

  3. ... here are some more.

    eat_here.jpg

We stopped for lunch here on the way to the range while waiting for a train to clear the road ... they slice the meat right before they put it on the sandwich and they make it big! This is highly recommended.

    dawn_day3a.jpg

Dawn on Day 3. First shot at 8:00am. It was a little cold, but it warmed up quickly. The hardest part was having the sun come up right behind targets you were trying to shoot at.

    shooter_services.jpg

The gals from shooter services were great! The even brought coffee to the RO's running the stages.

    ... more to come.

  4. here are some action shots ... if I'm violating anyone's image rights let me know and I'll do some deleting.

Shooting USA made it out with three cameras ... maybe something to watch for.

  5. Greetings from Oklahoma!

Here are some pictures from this morning. It was a pretty nice day.

    bay_view_front.jpg

There are currently two row of bays. This is a picture of the front row of bays from where we parked.

    bay_view_back.jpg

This is a picture of the back row of bays.

    array_view.jpg

Picture of part of an array. All the poppers for the entire match are the fall forward kind.

    stage10and11.jpg

Stage 10 and 11 that they were talking about in the production thread.

    more to come ...

  6. A rose by any other name could be called breakfast, lunch, or maybe dinner .... the best has to be dessert with whipped cream, a couple of cherries, and chocolate sprinkles.

  7. Not many writers can describe something as random as a piece of flaking paint in the upper corner of the room without losing the reader's interest and at the same time have it actually contribute to the story.

"Anything that gets the adrenalin moving like a 440 volt blast in a copper bathtub is good for the reflexes and keeps the veins free of cholesterol ..."

Hunter Thompson and William Gibson are two of the best that come to my mind. I have to admit I'd rather read science fiction that the stuff that Thompson writes about, but it's like great head from a fat chick. The context sucks, but everyone appreciates a good bj.

  8. How am I supposed to stand while firing? Is there a perfectly correct way or do I just get comfortable & shoot? B)

    ... to answer your question

There is no ONE supposed to be in IPSC/USPSA.

... be as "comfortable" as possible for each shot.

  9. In my mind, the most appropriate stance is that which allows the shooting platform to be as close to ideal as possible for the given shooting position.

This being said, it's time for some definitions:

    1. Stance: everything that you do from your waist down.

    2. Platform: everything you do from the waist up.
